i think the problem was you werent pressing down on the platter, the dns1000s only go into vinyl mode when you are pressing it down, same thing heppened to me first time i tryed some.

Fine aye! Had them since i started back in 2005...They still spin and do the trick..
They are weak torque wise... but if u don't scratch they are fine... i can hop from them straight onto technics or something decently high torqued with np's.

Well I put together my DJ table I ordered today and finally got to setup my gear properly and have a spin, pretty impressed but if you push the table to the left/right it feels like its going to fall apart (typical chinesse quality) haha

Anyway my setup is as follows

2x Numark TTX's decks
1x Behringer VMX300 Mixer
1x Behringer BCD2000
1x Stanton str8-60
1x Asus A8JP laptop to be used with Serato/Tractor Scratch when I make up my mind which route to take

Thats a really funky lookin set up you've got with that cabinet and speakers. It looks a litle low though - worried about getting a sore back?

Umm I haven't mixed on it long enough to comment yet, but it comes just above my waist (the table is 1.5m high, plus gear) so I thought its a pretty good height? Maybe it looks smaller in height in the photos

I picked up one of these tables about a month ago from an ebay seller for a great price. Mine was also pretty unstable. I've secured it with a couple of lengths of wood fitted diagonally across the back. Maybe worth a try?

al_mac has inspired me to post a pic of my custom built work dj setup.

components:

1x 'el rancho relaxo' 2ch mixer with extra long faders for rediculously long minimal and techno mixes. oh it also has inbuilt monitors.
1x 'el rancho relaxo' turntable with super duper metallic platter connected to an lcd display and memory bank for serato. no skipping stylus here mother fuckers!
1x iriver H340 with roadcase.
1x iriver H10 control/effects unit with 'el rancho relaxo' firmware. the firmware allows the vertical scroll pad to be used as a pitch slider and also as a wet/dry slider for the 53689732523 built in effects.

everything is wireless too. fuckin aye.

Sounds like a plan Would you be able to upload some photos of your setup so I can get an idea on how you secured the timber?

Oh and did you bother painting it? Its pretty shit condition but once I put everything in, its not as noticeable

How to secure timber 101:

Nails, or screws....

I made a table thats ugly as fuck and was really rocky, I put one big bracing timber on a diagonal on the back of it and attached it to the frame of the table....Then the top of my table was quite wobbly and bowed a bit so I did the same under the table top. Kinda helps I work for a building company so got everything for free to make the whole table.

Very much the same as my setup. Not so much the equipment (same headphones tho) but the layout and the black table. My table does the exact same thing too! When you push it left/right it turns into more of a parallelogram lol. Think I'd kill myself if it all fell over...

Will post a pic soon.

I've put a deck aside recently to have a kind of semi-live setup going instead.

Truth 2030s, DXM06, Serato, KP3, RNC compressos, Electribe MX, UMX MIDI keyboard and a Buddha machine...

Well I checked the measurements, seems I stated the wrong measurement

Height 905mm x Width 1500mm x Depth 500mm

So its not to bad, everything is at my waist line so its worked out pretty well

I am thinking of getting a new table however, the quality is absolutely shit...might just make an exactly same table out of new/quality MDF

I was waiting for someone to mention that...

I bought it about 3 weeks ago when I ran out, and that's where the box landed and has remained ever since If it makes me any less strange and/or lazy I will mention I do have an ensuite...

Time for a bit of production... Somewhere there is my Edirol FA66 (sits behind the coffee cup...)

And yes that is a naked chic holding a record as my background... and no she's not my gf.... and yes the background on my phone's just as slutty...

The naked chick is also on a dell - therefore she has herpies.

You need a naked chick holding a recording sitting on a mac. Then shes not only hot, but she has money, and likes your taste in electronics.
