m plastic? your fav hardstlye club?

i think u should turn down the bass......

if its been 7yrs... hardstyle had only just an emerging genre.

. plastic has disappeared. but u could search their myspace for a one off.

. different to what it once was.

...... i think the closest thing would be Energy... there's a thread about it on the syd page.

john ferris played there just a week ago.

but dont expect to much hardstyle....some.... but they are doin psy, hard trance, techno as well. more hard electronica.

very worth while . happy hunting.

.
john also playing at technique this sat. but i would think more acid / tech sounds.

The "Hardstyle" style has existed for a long time within the broader "hard trance" genre (it was predominantly the stuff coming out of Italy and Northern Europe at the time). It really only came to major attention in the last (approx) 5 years or so as a new harder concept to the sound evolved and the "hard trance" sound started to slip away as the dominant style as the hard trance style (at the time predominently referred to as "German") stagnated and less of it was being produced.

As for the Sydney scene - the hardstyle being played now is the current (and usually hard as nails) style of hardstyle. Its a punch in the head by comparison to what you were probably listening to here 7 years ago. Those artists you list are not considered hardstyle anymore (and many would argue never were - they were hard/German trance).

Plastic is over, except for one-offs. Check out the website and keep ya eyes out for the odd event.

Q Dance is obviously a must if you want hardstyle. There's a Q Dance warm up party at Club 396 (the Aussiehardstyle.com launch party) on Fri 29 March.

Hardforce do hardstyle dedicated events at Club 396, Space etc. Keep an eye on ITM what's on and the forums on sites like www.shufflin.com, www.joshandfriends.com.au etc for upcoming event details.

IMHO - best hard trance events (which I think you'll prefer if you're thinking Plastic 7 years ago and artists like Uberdruck, Kai Tracid, Cosmic Gate & Scott Project):

Energy every Fri at Club 396
Burn every Sat at Club 396 (launching 1 Mar)
Nexus every Sat at Metropolis (launching 1 Mar)
Play every Sun at VBar
Daydreams Sat and Sun morn from 5am (day club) at Hunter Bar

Enjoy!

I was at Infected Mushroom last Sunday night....from the DJ's playing before and after Infected, and the crowd, I'd say there's definitely a hardstyle scene lurking....it was great!

Some would say it's rared it's 'ugly head'. But that's pretentious Sydney for you...never knowing which genre is cool one day to the next.

Of course there is a hardsty;e scene in Sydney, and its not too small.

Try, wanted, subbies, energy, burn, nexus, and a few others opening soon.

u want hardstyle - come to q-dance it will be great
People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks. Years later, a doctor will tell me that I have an I.Q. of 48 and am what some people call mentally retarded.
