Hi Guys,

In response to my 'What with the Aussie dnb scene?' thread 'khem' the head mod at adelaidemassive put up a very useful sticky thread titled 'Australian Producers and Labels'. Basically a resource for home-grown aussie producers and labels to post up links to their myspace, music and anything of quality to help push and promote what pro-active dnb hedz are doing around the country!

The idea is in response to the fact that aussie dnb sadly is rarely getting supported on home turf. Most people seem to be putting this down to lack of exposure and it being hard to find, which is true, but it is being exasperated by (in my more cynical opinion) that people just assume aussie dnb is inferior so just 'overlook' it in favour of whats gettin handed to em from OS.

Well this thread is designed to change that, so if people do want to see whats happening on home-turf and get involved then this is the place for you to check whats going on!

Its mainly liquid stuff but with a deep atmopsheric edge, would really appreciate it if you could take a few minutes just to take a listen. I know the general opinion is Aussie dnb particularly if it aint signed to a major uk label is inferior, but I think you may all be surprised to hear there is some worthy stuff out there, its just very hard to get signed in the current market due to the whole vinyl-digital tug-of-war.

'Soho Lament' is simply beautiful dnb which is sure to please fans of the traditional Good Looking sound, as well as those of up-front and modern soulful drum'n'bass.

The track kicks off with a funky guitar lick and natural sounding percussion backing, giving the whole track a warm organic feel. The track builds with the subtle addition of fx and instrument sound-bites before the funky bass melody drops introducing the song in full. Funky dnb thats sure to keep the ladies inside the dance!


B - ATP - 'SOHO LAMENT' :

ATP offering up something a little different in the form of 'Soho Lament'. This track maintains the deep and soulful ATP flavour, but this time exchanging his usual jazzy approach with a more old school atmospheric style. 'Soho Lament' kicks off into the two-step drum beat with the addition of a deep atmospheric pad chord reminiscent of the traditional GLR sound and the track slowly builds with extra rolling breaks, female vocal snippets and subtle synth melodies weaving inside the main pad-chord. The bass-drop is introduced after a short interlude; trademark ATP sub-bass warming up the mix with a beautiful melody accompanying the theme of the intro beautifully. 'Soho Lament' is simply beautiful dnb which is sure to please fans of the traditional Good Looking sound, as well as those of up-front and modern soulful drum'n'bass.
