Cocktail Party Food
I am having a cocktail partry in a couple of weeks and need some ideas for hot finger food I can serve. I want foods that can be prepared earlier and don't take too much to cook (ie deep frying) something I could whack in the oven would be perfect.

So I was thinking:
Cheese patter
antipasto platter
turkish bread and dips

For warms treats I thought chciken and lamb skewers done on the bbq.

Any ideas and recipes would be much appreciated.

*Home made sausage rolls go down a treat - and cost less than $5 for a mound of them.
*Shot glasses or small tea cups of home made soup or miso or tom yum are pretty popular.
*Mini quiches are pretty simple to make in cupcake tins and can be served warm or cold.
*Volovants filled with chicken and mushroom, creamy smoked salmon and dill, spicy meat are easy and can be pre-prepared and warmed in the oven.
*Spicy meat balls or chicken balls baked in the oven and served with a nice salsa

Cold wise you could always dish up one of the following
*Little rolls of ham or salami or smoked salmon rolls stuffed with cream cheese, capers, olives, sundried tomatoes, roasted capsicum, pickled onions etc are pretty easy to make and also get served cold but usually are gobbled up
*Shot glasses filled with sashimi and a light dressing/sauce are good - and sashimi is so cheap from the fish market!
*Make some rice paper rolls - some with prawns, shredded chicken, various vegies and served cold means they're pretty easy too.

- Wings! Just coat in a marinade then chuck in the oven. Easy, cheap and tasty!
- Chop up bruschetta mix in a bowl. Let people spoon on to toasted bread themselves.
- Baked spring rolls. Easy and cheap! Vermicelli noodles, pork mince + spices, carrot, spring onion and bean sprouts. Roll them up in some spring roll wrappers (in the frozen section as Coles). Chuck in the oven until crispy.

I'm a big fan of rice paper rolls too, but I reckon your antipasto & cheese platter sounds good enough for a cold selection.

Get a ham. Everyone loves a ham.

Ham + little rolls + mustard = win
I would kill everyone in this room for a drop of sweet beer.

Hey. You may be old one day and still have unsophisticated taste buds.

Wouldn't that suck?

You're probably right on the money there! Although since coming out of my teens I have started eating a lot more things I never thought I would. Could have something to do with my sister being a chef, but I put it down to old age.

Vegetarians suck the life out of parties, it's best not to invite them.
