I would have to say one of the best techno get your ass on the dance floor tracks would be Alter Ego's 'Betty Ford'.
Soon I discovered that this rock thing was true
Jerry lee lewis was the devil
Jesus was an architect previous to his career as a prophet
All of a sudden, I found myself in love with the world
So there was only one thing that I could do...

fuckin winner of a track.. had a live mash i used to do years ago of that with marco zaffarani - 'boys and girls' always did the job in my younger 145bpm headfucking days.

Another trick if i need to get a floor up and they look like they enjoy a slice is cheese is dropping the Dj preach bootleg of Blur's 'Song 2' and then layering the vocal of Freestyler's 'Push up' over the top... works like a charm and they sit in key oh so nicely

another big slice of cheese would have to be I Feel Love ... and if you want to kick it up a notch the Plumps Donna Kebab is a great alternative!

I have that version, although a lot of the remixes I'm not really into.
If you ever get it, listen to the Dakeyne Remix. It's the most bizarre thing you'll ever hear lol

Funk, I thought you would just play the original. Haven't heard the remix, but don't know how it can beat the original!

I play the z-trip remix A LOT and it always goes down a treat. It stays quite true to the original but extends it and adds a more modern beat structure.

I don't care who did it, originals FTW. That goes for about 80-90% of tracks.

If you can't mix it then time to get some skills kid!

it's probably harder to mix the Ztrip version than the orignal

I'm all up for playing originals ... but sometimes new skool remixes of older tracks mean some beefier production ... this mix in particular we're discussing, as said before, stays pretty true to the original but has some solid production.

Dont think it was the highest selling breaks track of all time. It does hold the mantle for highest
selling track of some sort (bootleg?). I dont think it tops the breaks list though.

Sweet Dreams x 2
Feelin Kinda Strange (kleph & thayer rmx) still love this track as much as the first time I heard
it, all though it helps not hearing it daily.
Breaks booty of Black Betty seems to work a treat.

you seem to have pulled this out of your arse. what does my skill on the decks have to do with how good or bad a track is?

and watch who you're calling "kid", too.

It's not the point of mixing it in BBC but z-trip has actually taken this song and improved the sound quality and changed the structure a little, honestly if you heard it out you would probably think it was the orignial.

Anyway....Crystal Waters - 100% Pure Love is another favourite of mine go the 90s!

Underworld - Born Slippy

This is an awesome techno track. Just because it has a trancey opening riff, it's found it's way into the crates of trance DJs who've completely bastardised this track.
Every remix of this is shit. The original is techno rave morning-set dodgy-warehouse perfection. I'm with BBC, a big advocate of originals.

Oh wait.. is this a trick thread whereby the suggested tracks will be laughed at if they're not released prior to CDJs being invented or have some roots in old-skool music? If so, fail me

not sure if its been mentioned in here but if you wanted guaranteed you cant go past Mr Brightside by the Killers, played a party couple of weeks ago, had about 2 hours of loungy house, then decided it looked like everyones drinks/drugs were kicking in so just dropped it.....trouble is my drinks/drugs were kicking in too...meaning I got carried away dancing and had no fucking idea where to go afterwards....

You Don't Know Me is more a "it's 3am and everyone is off their tits" type tune ... and it fits the bill superbly

my threads & posts are pretty constructive for the most part. just because i don't sugar coat my opinions and play the same game the perceived majority do, doesn't mean i'm trolling ... it's just that some folks can't get past the fact their sensibilities don't gel with my opinions and can't help take this as a personal attack on matters that aren't even there.

The Buckheads (sp) - The bomb!

This song was one that I only tracked down recently after hearing it various times when out but only remembering the tune the next time i'd hear it. I think that trend continued for a few years till I saw it on a youtube mix recently.

How disgusting, all these cheesy songs have no place on in the mix. I am too cool to dance to or even be in a venue playing such songs.

with an attitude like that, dj duke is doomed. all music has it's place.
people of all ages and types enjoy music.
even the cheesiest song ever (ie.crazy frog) has its place. have you ever seen a group of toddlers going ning ning ning dancing motorbike style on red cordial?

in answer to your question, if your happy at gay clubs, then thats where you belong.

disclaimer
no offence intended towards the gay community.
this was a just tongue in cheek response to a wankerish question by dj duke doom
