Try loosening them up a little. You may be wearing them a little tight. Tends to restrict blood flow in the veins around you ears...there's also some pressure point's you maybe touching on as well...

mine arrived this morning.. was about to goto uni (mind me i was running late too) when the courier guy drives up my driveway while i was locking up my house. without a thought, i figured ill sign the parcel now, saves me from going back to the post office tomorrow or any other day when i could be bothered.

then it clicked! it was my headphones, with excitement, went back inside ripped open the package and had what i thought was a quick mix to test them out i love them, everything is so clear again

...i was 2 and half hours late for uni.. hehehe now to decide whether to use the original pads or the velour pads any opinions?

Ive had mine for a couple of years now and they have never failed me.
All i want now is the curly cord as i keep ripping the jack out of the mixer when i go to change tracks.

I need to order the curled or longer lead also

Apart from that hands down the best cans I have used for Dj'ing

Much lighter than my old technics 1200's or whatever they were (big silver model) and have much more punch

Also i play with a lot less volume now, which is great for all concerned.

One word of warning though, and a little off topic - i recent visited the doctor as my ear was blocked up. He said it was like concrete in the ear canal.
Apparently wearing the cans for excessive amounts of time with pressure inwards (sound waves) he said can cause the wax to compress (humidity + pressure + time) in my case resulted in my ear becoming blocked completely.

Easily fixed if you go at the time, however as i was the typical guy and waited about a month, i needed 3 visits to clear it out completely.
And i will add it was damn painful how much pressure he needed to flush it out.

Now i can hear everything again though

i got the coiled cable version, they are nice

just for the sake of being picky, the coiled cable has a slight drag down weight on your right due to the weight of the cord. feels a tad bit unbalanced in weight but its not much of a concern.

Just ordered mine then. Been using HD212's which I bought just for mp3 player so will be interesting to see if the difference is noticeable. I hope so!

i guarantee you the difference is noticeable. i moved from hd202s to hd25s and the sound is just so much clearer and crisper.

well i got these on saturday, got my ath-700 exchanged cause the things started to crack. i exchanged them for sennys cause they had no techs. and i wanted to see whats this shit everyone is raving on about. seriously i dunno wtf is all the fuss about these headphones. they do sound very nice, not better than the ath-700 but they have to be the most uncomfortable headphones i have ever had. small earcups, and they feel like a clamp around your head not to mention cables hanging everywhere.

i only got them for their durability and robustness
every other headphones looked too flimsy to last 10 years for me

but i am not such a big fan of the HD-25 sound as it sounds quite 'bassy' (when i like more treble in my music) and i don't think "burning" the headphones in will do it any better, as i have only used it quite sparingly.

i still like my Etymotic earphones though.

loosen them, how? i have to say that's the only drawback of the HD25s -- prolonged wearing will hurt the ears. but it's not like you wear them on your ears for hours at a time, right? for DJing?

Whats the go with the dual headband? Is it a comfort thing? Or is it to justify the extra cost over the SP's!

for me, the dual headband helps keeps the phones on my head, when adjusted correctly, at all times.

more comfortable, but also more secure. i find that single band headphones go straight over the crown of your noggin which can get a bit sore after a while. the dual bands allow you to increase/decrease the distance between the two until its more comfy on your uniquely shaped head.

have two points of contact on your head also makes them much more secure and less prone to slide back or forth.

but really... when i dj with them i have the two bands together as they're being moved so often.

Yeah me too... most of the time I have them hanging round my neck and whip one cup up to my ear when I'm cueing up and mixing. If the headband is split they don't sit on my neck comfortably.. I imagine the split band would be better for people who mix in the headies compared to using the monitor.

I don't think it is, after all they have many applications. When flying 747's on longhaul flights the dual headband applies less concentrated pressure on my brain, makes me land instead of crash.

if my HD25s were a woman, i would take her out for an expensive seafood dinner AND call her the next day! after our first date i would never want her to be out of my sight ever again; when she's not with me i feel incomplete, like half a DJ. i am consumed by her ebony curves and aural delights, could this be love? she makes me want to be a better DJ... she makes me a better DJ...

i love my HD25s so much...

if anyone is considering the povo HD-25 SP II models, think again. had a look at some the other day and they had a worse built quality than the el-cheapo $70 HD202s. looked like the headband was going to snap too. save up for the real ones.

yes and they rule! i had the original ones for years, even to the point where i had tape holding em together. see! and here!

changed to the velour and fell in love with the 25's all over again.

they felt brand new. and still do every time i put them on several years later.

and they don't fall apart like the original ones. after playing an 8-10 hour set, they tended to get wet and disintegrate. I would walk out of the club with black shit all over my left ear.
