Your Ibiza Survival Tips (Diet, Sleep etc..)
Ok, so I'm off to the crazy island for four days in July and of course keen to make the absolute most out of my time there. I however don't want to make the mistake I did at Splendour last year and go too hard the first night which kind of takes the gloss of the rest of the time.

As such, would love to hear everyone's survival tips when heading to Ibiza. Do you eat certain foods the next day or once you've come home to fill your stomach, have some kind of awesome little sleeping pattern trick, make sure you get home by certain hour etc etc??

Stuff I've heard:
- Earplugs
- Eye mask
- Fish / cod oil (or something like that)

... let's hear it all!

i don't bother with day clubs. most are a waste of time and not worth the effort. beach by day, club by night. i found that 3 hours sleep a day was fine for me. as long as i relaxed on the beach during the day, it was enough sleep each morning to get me through the 10 days.

i ate 3 times a day no matter what. when you don't eat, your body shuts down and you just feel more tired and lethargic.

four days is easy. 10 days requires a lot more pacing and energy.

4 days ... you could go hard for 4 days and be fine.

I lasted for 6 days on about an hour's sleep a night. But I party clean so this is why I was able to last longer. I ate regularly, relaxed when I needed it, stuck to mostly water while I was out which kept me hydrated and that was that. But I expect most people don't come to Ibiza to urm, well party clean haha. Def take buffed's advice .... don't go so hard and forget to give your body the nutrients it needs. Even if you have to force a meal down do it.

While I didn't do the day clubs that time there really isn't that option anymore considering the ban on day time clubbing now in force anyway. Most clubs won't be opening till 4.30pm except for closing and opening parties which are not restricted by this.

Don't think about it too much, just go with the flow and know your limits.

Earplugs are a definite must. I went to Space Opening and even with custom-made earplugs that lower the volume by 20dB I still had to put my fingers over the filters because it was that full on. My poor flatmates were in so much pain afterwards from having no plugs but thankfully I was not.

don't stop taking drugs, then u will be on a continuous high. Also saves on food costs...

or

what we did was

go out til about 6am, come home, sleep til about 12 get up and eat. Then do what ever during the day, beach, go for a drive etc...

Then we would go to bed again for about an hour at about 8/9pm. Then get up, start drinking and hit the clubs again! Found this made it easy to get through the 5 nights clubbing.

And defo need ear plugs, the sound is insane over there.

that sounds pretty much perfect...i worked in a club in greece for 5 months straight without a night off from 10pm till 5am or 8am and if you go home and sleep from morning till lunchtime, as well as a european siesta in the early evening, you end up feeling better than our schedule here of sleeping 7 or 8 hours a night and then being up and working all day

i didn't know about ear plugs though...will definitely be getting some now
leave me alone...i'm old

take a big bottle of multi-vitamins with you - despite your best intentions it will be impossible to eat properly all the time, and your body will need everything it can get!

stock up on bottled water at a supermarket - you can't drink out of taps in ibiza, and you don't want to be stuck looking for something drinkable when you roll in the door at 6.30. get some gatorade/powerade/whatever the balearic equivalent is too.

apart from that, eat and sleep. and enjoy!

can anyone recommend the best boat party to go on in Ibiza? Or say whether they are worth going on at all?

^^ yup I most certainly am. I'm a rotating resident DJ for the Garlands Ibiza Boat Parties and I can say this without any bias at all that they are seriously THE best boat party on the island.

Your ticket on the boat also gets you into Eden Nightclub later that night too. It's on every Wednesday from 7pm - 10pm, you can pre-purchase tickets (You can get them through me if you like ....). There is a pre-party at Plastik bar then after the boat we are looking to have everyone come up to my club night that I run in Opium in the West End every Wednesday then later in the night you can go to Garlands at Eden (or stay with me in Opium and get pissed for a lot less money and you get great music supplied by moi haha

www.ibizaboatparty.com is the website

If you scroll down the left hand side you'll see the poster for my club night called Pure Pleasure Experience

i think i stayed till close once in the 5 days i did last year.
would get back to the apartment take two herbal sleeping tablets have a nice warm shower (mainly to get the smoke smell out of my hair) and sleep through till lunch time or once woken up.
once awake would have brekkie
lots of snacking during the day, relaxing by the pool or beach in the afternoon, pasta for dinner, sometimes a late arvo/early evening nap and drinking plenty of water.

Would usually have a siesta just after sunset for 2-3 hrs... and sleep from 8am to 1pm
