Effects units
Im looking to buy a unit to plug in my mixer to give me a range of effects to play with in a similar fashion to the built in fx on the pioneer djm 800. I have no clue what is on the market these days & thought itm would be a good place to start. Im not looking to pay top dollar for an fx unit, although i am not sure what the price ranges are either way so any recommendations are welcome (links too!). Thanks

Look for a 2nd hand EFX500 if you're not looking to pay top dollar - has all you need for prob around $300

As far as I am concerned, it would be either:

LESS$$$=
EFX500 or KP2
more$$$=
KP3
or bit more$$$=
EFX1000

But that's me...for now I own a KP3 and trying to raise $$$ for an EFX1000...

I have a 3 month old EFX1000 that I am willing to part with.
They sell for $850 - $900 new still

Willing to let it go for the right price

keep in mind you can always run an aux send via your computer and then back again if you wanted, would save yourself quite the amount of cash and have loads more flexibility and such

i've got a kp3 and use the computer as well, never used a efx1000. all i know is that if you do use a standard sorta effects thing it's best to dig a little deeper so all the sounds aren't instantly recognisable but i guess only chin-strokers will pick-up on that

i'd like another kaos pad though resampling resamplin'

Is it worth spending extra coin to get an efx500 or 1000 if I already have a djm800?
I've never used one so I don't know how much better they are for doing effects.

They do offer alot more flexibility and control over the effects than the built in module from what I've noticed but it all depends on whether you'll benefit from that.
