Wednesday night entertainment in Sydney
So we're not looking for a club night or somewhere to dance, but now that Bogan Bingo isn't on at the OAF anymore does anyone have suggestions of something entertaining to do tomorrow night? We want to do trivia/laugh/throw things at people...

Pref Inner City, Eastern Suburbs :-)

Guitar hero competition at the Lansdowne Hotel in Ultimo.

Free entry, they have all different levels (beginner to expert)
The scoring system is your points from the game and how hard you 'rocked out' when playing (judged by the crowd), combine this with a few 9 dollar jugs of beer and maybe you could throw the guitar at someone while rocking?

went to the sly fox for a MITC a year ago and was a little shocked. /sheltered

Not much for older crowd on a wednesday - Eastern Wednesdays are obviously popular with the 17-20 year olds.
The wall used to be good down at bar cleveland, haven't gone since it moved to World Bar - is it still an art thing, or more just a clubby thing now?

Taken from SMH a few weeks ago:

CONSOLADOR DE DOS CARAS

Held in an underground Spanish Quarter tavern that looks like it was designed in the '60 - thanks to its multicoloured tiles, arches, wooden beams and gold-coloured lamps - Consolador de dos Caras plays host to some of the most unusual musical acts in Sydney.

One artist we saw played a wheel-cranked electric guitar; another wailed on what looked like a ruler connected to a distortion pedal. The crowd is filled mainly with art-student types, although a few people look like they've escaped from an asylum. There are also stalls that sell zines, records, badges, books and independent CDs as well as specially made guitar pedals.

Consolador de dos Caras is held every Wednesday at La Campana, 53-55 Liverpool Street, city, from 8pm. Cover charge is about $5 for local acts and $10 for internationals.

See http://www.dualplover.com/consolador.html
I'm a DJ, I push the volume up to 10
the lights are dancing in the red, I'm distorting it again

yeah thanks guys but we aren't looking to go out/go listen to music - we just want some trivia/comedy/entertainment that isn't going to inhibit our ability to have a conversation & catch up with mates...

my boyfriend likes the guitar hero thing so that might be the go :-)
