Well they do all the trad ones too .... I couldn't say no to the beef as hadn't seen it before. Plus personally I always think great things things can come from breaking the trad rules....its just they often don't.

Vee vee bakery, about 10 doors down from Hong Ha in Botany Rd, Mascot. Special Duck Roll is the bomb, like a chicken roll, on steroids. Even better walking past the 20 person line of Hong Ha, already been served and those suckers don't know what they are missing

Tien Minh aka KK Bakery certainly lived up to the rep. 5/5 for the roll pate And mayo. Actually, 5/5 across the board for the chicken roll - easily one of the best I've had in Sydney, and cheapest too! $4 for a chicken roll, $3.50 for pork.

Place in North Melbourne near work does some real good rolls, pretty cheap but real tasty, and whenever I walk in they know how I like it - no marg/chilli sauce instead of fresh(because its always clump0ed in the one spot instead of spread out) pickled carrots mmmm.
Also Footscray near the train station there is a tiny bakery where the tram turns that is always packed and always fresh.

I used to work in a place on henderson road in redfern which has 3 vietmanese bakeries within 100 metres.. I was averaging about 2 a day for a good 3 months before my heart stopped a few times so I gave them up. my colleges and I spent many hours discussing the pros and cons between each. I remember the most heated debate was about the store that put beetroot in... it may taste good but its just not legit!!!

Found a nice one in Maroubra Junction ....Maroubra Bakery on Anzac Pde near the RTA ......I've smashed 4 rolls there in the last week .....and get this : They do half size rolls for $2 ! ....also they do tuna Bahn mi too which is a bit wacky but have yet to try anything other than the chicken.

The Vietnamese Chicken & salad roll ....these rock big time...been eating them for years now...cant go without the marinated carrot or the coriander...some places put cheese (tasty or processed) & sometimes even fresh chilli (springwood nsw)
