DJ Fusion - I will definitely be looking into those albums as soon as I am paid.

I know this discussion is a bit old, but who remembers Fear Factory's cover of Cars?

I am also looking at buying Emperor's Anthems at the Welkin at Dusk and In the Nightside Eclipse, now that my love for metal has been rekindled over the past year. I used to have these two albums and along with CoF and Marduk, they were my first exposure to black metal. I love Emperor's sound because it's not just full on banging, their sound is a lot more intricate than most.

i hated fear factory's coer of ted nugent's cars. it really rubbed me up the wrong way.

i used to do a metal radio show years ago, and had the chance to meet fear factory and itnerview them. dino was a right tosser, and refused to shake my hand. from that day forth i didnt give them very good reviews (thankfully the music they produced went downhill after demanufacture anyhow)

those emperor albums are classics, and some of the best in their genre

if you liked those albums, then you should purchase the Emperial Live Ceremony dvd

its fucken awesome

Is that DVD fairly easy to find? Methinks it mightn't be something that Amazon would readily stock.

Good gravy... what kind of arsehole would refuse to shake someone's hand, famous or otherwise? Totally not cool. However I do believe Dino is no longer with FF? Truth be told Demanufacture was the only album they did that I really enjoyed over repeat listens.

Damn, wish I still had a Creative player so I could discreetly tune in to that show and Perth's metal show as well!

The Moor - Opeth

That is some of the best metal I have ever heard.

Nothing will ever top Megadeth for me though.

^ Hmmm... lots of CD and DVD shopping to do this week, once my new debit card arrives... There's all that stuff to look at, the Emperor DVD if I can find it online and Anjunabeats vol. 6 (to pre-order).

Listening to CoF's Principle of Evil Made Flesh atm... definitely not Dani's best vocal effort hehe but a downright excellent album no less!

Steve89; a good mate of mine, coincidentally named Steve, is a massive Megadeth fan. He went over to Melbourne just to see them at Gigantour and had an absolute ball. Said fellow is also a dark/hard D&B DJ who should be getting a lot more gigs than he does (tis the scene and all, who you know not who you are etc.). If not for him, I don't think my interest in metal would have been rejuvenated in the fashion that it has.

I've noticed recently theres a surpirsing amount of metal stuff on iTunes and Amazon mp3 these days- including some really obscure stuff that would be difficult/expensive to find on CD. Pretty cheap too if you're lucky/clever enough to have a US account!

Gimme screams/growls any day... although My Dying Bride and Primordial both employ clean singing very effectively at least some of the time. Oh and Tool are cool.... you'll never get mocked in metal circles for liking Tool. (just don't fess up to liking Slipknot or other nu-metal tragics or you'll get crucified!).
Saw Sevendust supporting Ozzy but can't say they did much for me.

You fail at metal my friend.

("Metal Up Your Ass" was the original working title for Metallica's debut album, but they were pursuaded to change the the title and cover to "Kill Em All" by their record company)

I have seen megadeth play in the last 2 gigantours and they have not dissapointed.

I thought Gigantour was Australia wide?

Anyone know the line up for this year? I know In Flames, COB and Megadeth did the American tour....It would be AWESOME to have those bands on the list for G-tour here.

Did anyone in Brisbane catch Opeth on Sunday night?

I always wondered if many ppl on here liked metal! Love Darkthrone, Burzum and Isengard. For normal death i could never go past Exit 13 and Brutal Truth - blastbeat heaven..

People into dance music often babble on like it's the most emotive stuff out there but it ain't shit compared to a good black metal track.

i have to admit, i love electronic music, mainly prog, but nothing quite gives me a raging mongrel like a heavy fucking death metal/thrash metal track!

QFT.Especially some of the second wave norwegian stuff (Burzum, Gorgoroth, early Emperor, Gehenna etc) was just incredibly emotive.

How many of you have seen Concorde Dawn live? They drop "Raining Blood" into every set

Lol no shit, glad I wasn't there to hear you try! The only reason I got away droppin Ministry was because it was in a gabba/hip-hop battle set

Btw, your temp account is likely to get your perma-banned dude, you should stop using it.

Hey does anyone else still get their alt and grunge on these days? I'll never get sick of Janes Addiction, Sonic Youth, Mudhoney, ...And you will know us by the trail of the dead, some old glam Motley Crue and Gunners, some new glam like Black Tide, Bullet and some new stadium alt hard rock flavours like Alter Bridge, Mars Volta, Lostprophets, Funeral for Friend etc but I gotta say, the one act outside my usual genres that has always been with me is Nick Cave - I've probably been listening to him now for about 20 years and his musical storytelling only gets more magical with age, I reckon he's probably my all-time favourite artist. Anyone else here dig Nick Cave?
