Pole Folder
If you are a fan of this Diggers prodigy and master of light and shade then this thread is for you.

Benoit’s productions are some of the most evocative, complex and evolving tunes ever created in the world of prog including: Apollo Vibes, Dust, A Million Ways to Give Up, and, more recently the amazing builder Eastern Lagoon.

His new mix album Destinations is a wonderful kaleidoscopic journey and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys the more complex and intricate side of prog.

If you get to see him live you are most fortunate indeed. He often plays live over the top of tunes (with various instruments). As an example, see this intro he does to Pryda – Armed. Definitely a spine tingler.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RVENsH751EQ

He tours Oz annually, usually in May-June, and his most recent gig at Laundry on May 23 was exemplary. It was a shame there was such a small crowd (poor publicity??) but it was quite a treat and I had a smile on my face for days after. He is a great guy also and happy to have a chat if he is not too busy behind the decks. Can’t wait for his next tour!

His style is unmistakably progressive but combines lots of tech, accessible techno, with some funk. I think he is at his best we he rips it up with the peak time prog though. In interviews he always makes a point of saying that melody is of the utmost importance to him which is refreshing for people like me who have grown very tired of the often colourless minimal tech world.

Over the coming weeks I will try to put up some of my extensive back catalog of his sets. Hopefully this will fill a hole for those of you who are missing Hernan. I have often thought that they are not too far apart stylistically and both are not afraid of the chug

Here is a recent set to get you started. Enjoy.

Definitely a fan !! Loved him at 161. There was a small group of us who knew who he was and we surrounded the DJ booth. He seemed to get a real kick out of us enjoying him so much. He came over and chatted when he finished. A really, really, nice unassuming guy, another thing he has in common with Hernan.

Funny thing! A Sander Kleinenberg set that came up recently, everyone is saying how good it is , Sander is back !! It turned out that the first two thirds were actually Pole folder

Btw I agree what you said there about melody etc,

i really love his kiss 100 mix from a few years back, when he was about to release zero gold- i recommend it very very highly.

the track he finishes with after love & imitation is stunning. i can listen to it over and over and over again and it always gets me. I've no idea where the voice over/ vocal comes from, i don't think its part of the track (it could be a sample from a movie, excerpt from a book, not sure), and its incredibly random, but there's just something about it....

here it is http://www.megaupload.com/?d=5YTJ4VO0

Wow, never heard of him before, thanks for the intro. I've been trying more deep melodic prog similar to catteneo or henry saiz.

PS. If u want a free download, grab Pole Folder - Mona Kea (Human Adams Remix) of beatport

The progressivehouse.com forum helped me out. This is IMO Inpetto's best work, much better than all his more commercial tracks.

Yep beat me to it. Fuckin fantastic!!! Ben is a bit earlier than usual this year which is great coz he usually comes out the week before exams start. I see he is also at Empire in Brisvegas on the 17th. Not sure about the Melb date yet.

So now Sydney prog massive, if you want to hear one of the true masters of the prog scene, get ur arses along to this one.

Hype.

He was at 161 last year which really isn't the best place for him. The crowd there make me pretty unv comfortable. He is booked elsewhere for Friday 17th and Sat18th . One way or the other we would have to keep him in the country for an extra week. The week prior, because he has a gig 24th Bali, how much is a return trip from Bali. But, hey, It's a beautiful time in Australia He would actually be stunning addition to the Darkbeat birthday party. My first thought was a local night called Clarity. They do some great prog!!

As you can see I have been thinking about this

Got a message from Benoit this avo - he said that it looks likely that he WILL have a Melb date but probably won't be headlining.

Sweet as...

He said he will let me know more as details come to hand
