The level of nit-picking and catfights between some of the promotion crews in this forum is out of control.

As there is obviously a lot of bad blood between certain groups in this forum I am asking that all promoters and their employees/associates/fanboys keep out of other peoples event threads.

If this doesn't work out we'll be banning all event threads in this forum and they will be farmed off to the city forums.

The mods for this forum have been recieving a lot of PM's about event hijack posts. Instead of sending PMs, please use the "Report Post" button (found in the left panel of each post) to report problems.

What is wrong with you pigman? You don't understand that it's a competitive field and some of this years entrants like to psyche themselves up for the big race. You should be honored that this training track has be chosen for the entrants to get in peak form for. Argh some just can't handle the pressure because they haven't got the peak fitness and race experience. Oh and yeh no International contenders this year because of the cat flue that has crippled the Industry over the past few months. That is what happens when too many cats coming in from Israel aren't kept in quarantine long enough. I swear ever since the GoCheese stable starting bringing in all these foreign Israeli Cheese Cats the situation has just compounded.

I thought I give the spectators a real life view of the situation

I welcome healthy debate and open discussion, but we have been trying to eliminate competing promoters and people with hidden agendas from derailing event threads and slinging shit at each other.

Where to draw the line?

It's becoming apparent that this forum is going to need constant micromanagement from the moderators to keep it under control, and thats not viable. That now only leaves the drastic option of banning all event threads.

The option is just to turn a blind eye & let it go.

Look, this promoter bollocks is really counter-productive. I have no vested interests in ANY of the parties posted here (aside from the fact that I may/may not decide to be a punter) and I'm being adversely affected.

Consider this:-

I went to a certain event held a couple of weeks ago. When I arrived, my friends had told me about a number of cancellations. A few of the artists I was really quite upset about, but whatever, I'm here now, and i had a good time and saw some great music I may not have seen had my other fave artists been there.

However due to the line up changes, the times were varied and not available to take home. Now I am stuck wondering "Who was I listening to on the market stage at 10.30 on Sunday morning?"

As usual, my first port of call when it comes to all things electronically good, I headed straight to ITM to see if I could garner this seemingly innocuous tidbit of information. Imagine my horror when I read through some of the threads and saw multiple bannings about, well, crap it looks like.

regardless, I posted a reasonable and friendly-worded thread. Not about the party, all I wanted was the answer to WhoTF was that market stage dude.

The thread was shut down the next day. Now ITM will no longer tolerate any discussions regarding that particular promoter or their events. (In a way, I agree, but NO THREADS ABOUT [insert promoter here] EVER seems a bit totalitarian, especially since there may be room for constructive discussion)

The Promoter's website appears to have shut down the forum (it's been down for maintainance an awful long time) so finding out through there is not an option

Oztrance (seemingly the be all and end all when it comes to these kind of doof discussions) does not actually accept new registrations. No love there at all

I have no way of finding the information I want. It was a reasonable request and due to the actions and high emotions of some, others have suffered due to it.

It's not a contest guys. If you don't like the promoter, fine. If you don't like the party, fine. Slinging a bit of mud within a forum should be acceptable (that's why forums were invented), but crikey! You gotta draw the line somewhere!

Anyway, it looks like the moderators have sorted this out, and the forums are nice and peaceful and back to normal. So now we can all get back to discussing our uber excitement about TRIBEDELIC, RAINBOW, MATREIYA etc et al ad nauseum ad infinitum
