Testimonials work only if you know who said it, why it's relevant and that it's factual... who the hell are they? Google didn't respond to them either, so I'm guessing they're either made up or some randoms.

To all the people who say 'atleast they're giving beginner DJs a go', sorry, but I disagree. The un-professionalism of their website and their posts here are probably reflective of their practices. If they write like this for their websites (their primary marketing platform) what's to say their contract work/legal clauses are any better? A mistype or misunderstanding in a binding agreement could spell disaster.

I am being nit-picky, but its a business and you have to deal professionally in a business, especially if you're contracting people.

This might actually be a good idea if you had executed it properly.

I can see potential, but if you are seriously trying to get this off the ground your going to have to invest some time and money building up the idea.

First up, vistaprint? come on... a real website will cost about $100 for a decent design and hosting. If you use a decent CMS like joomla it even spell checks for you (google it).

Second you have no DJ's so how can you expect clients? What you need to be like is a hub between DJ's and Promoters/Gigs and since you have no experience promoting I suggest you take a night out on the town on Friday and sign up some promoters and clubs who will take a few newbie DJ's to trail from you for free for a week.

lastly where would my $5 go if I signed up?

This is a good idea you have here, if you can pull your finger out.

Did you guys do the website yourself? i dont know any website creator that wouldnt bother to check spelling before uploading a new site and I dont know of anyone clever and techy enough to create that website who cant spell.

If it was me, I wouldnt bother to start a business and promote a website thaty has so many errors - dont you check things before they are finalised?.

Bingo

All these "come join us we'll find you gigs" schemes just seem to fail from the start. Like J-Radical stated if your idea is gigging at weddings & company x-mas parties by all means join up!

Or you could save your 5 bucks and sign up to a real mobile DJ company.

I wouldnt recommend it. From my experience its a lot more hard work, less fun and terrible money.

Yeh dude been there done that, wasn't always bad though, specially the days when new guys came in & all I had to do was sit around at parties & make sure they were doing the right thing.

Now that was less work, more fun & good money!

What are we signing up on/for?

Can you post a sample "contract"? I'm intrigued.

Although, I can't imagine anyone here feeling comfortable "signing up" with you considering how you come across..

Good luck though

Your quotes specifically say that they've been dealing with 'Pro DJ Australia'... which they have not been. False claims.
As this is a new business, you can't claim these quotes about your previous 'help'. Those testimonials are only valid for what you did prior to the business. You can only claim something about your business if you did it with the business.

So this means, if after your first gig the manager loves your DJing and asks to make you a resident, you're stuck with these guys leaching 15% of your salary or you have to decline the job.
Am I understanding this right?

I'd love to see a sample contract, because this sounds really dodgy.

You said that writing properly (grammar, punctuation, spelling etc) is not your asset. People have pointed out how un-professional your posts look multiple times in this thread and you have failed to make any effort to spell check or use a capital letter.
Is this how you deal with criticism?

Communicating via the internet is becoming more and more important in this industry and your minimal writing efforts will create bad first impressions.

ProDj if you want to sue for gigs acquired outside of contract, is there a clause that says clients can sue you if gigs are not found.... would imagine trying to book a TerrorCore Dj would be tough this day and age.....

They have someone/friend? on their roster......

http://prodjaustralia.com/Currentdjs.html

Again I ask ProDjAustralia, if you retain the right to sue if Dj's seek other work, how can they get remittance if they believe you are not working to their satisfaction as far as getting gigs..... painted yourself into a very big corner with that statement i think

Prodjaustralia do yourself a favor and read http://www.lc.unsw.edu.au/onlib/punc.html also all sentences and names should start with a capital letter and there should be a space after every full stop. Have a go at fixing the "About Us" section on your website.

If you honestly don't think you need to learn the basics of grammar then maybe running a business isn't for you.

Guys stop helping him your giving him hope that this could actually work for a minute

Im sorry Pro DJ Australia but if you wanted to pitch this to ITM again, change the whole name of your business, learn some punctuation skills, get your shit together, change your name and come back here in 6 months. Im sure people will get behind this if it isnt from some sketchy guy using a default template for a website whos still reading green eggs and ham

Im all seriousness though dude, stop now and take that advice. Then you will have a chance because you have jack all of getting anyone off ITM now, and considering this is pretty much Australias dance music hub your fucked if any of us come across your name cos our buddy has taken up with you. As people have said, start again, do it properly and launch properly instead of just saying "thas iz w at wee ha-ve 2 offa" with a sub standard website that doesnt explain anything your "business" does, if it does anything at all beside cut into our pay to put things in your hands.
