WAW on 360 has the filter apparently, PS3 version doesn't for some inane reason.

Games at night are fine, during the day is almost pointless with the excessive latency.

the filter on the 360 just says something like :

locale only (mainly aussies and kiwi ****s)
local (singaporeans, japanese, west coast usa tend to join up)
global (wankers from florida)

Seems like a simple thing to implement really.

i think i might have to buy a HD TV for this

are kogan TV's complete shit, or are they usable... considering the ONLY thing it'll be used for is gaming probs 5hrs a week and probably 3 hours of TV a week

get a samsung LCD if you can afford it, but a Kogan LCD would be better than not having a flat panel at all.

when it all comes down to it, as long as you have the xbox, a decent display, the game and the maps, then you are on the same playing level as the peoples with the prestige edition.

For some stupid reason there is a chain letter going around PS3 MW1 online PS3 that the PS3 version of MW2 has less multiplayer maps than the 360.. can someone confirm this isn't true..

I can't really belive that this would ever happen but in the letter it's telling all PS3 players to put MW2 as clan tag in pertirtion.

How is being a "try hard" not doing what everyone else does? It's just a game dude, I think if you "really care" about call of duty, it doesn't matter what you play it on as long as you enjoy it.

Anyway, I watched an interview with one of the dudes from IW a month or so back when he was talking about the game, and the interviewer asked something about it being better on a particular console, and he clearly stated that there was no biased development, or no console would be treated better than another.

Also, it could just be shit stirring by xbox people, and even if it is true, your still going to have to pay for the extra maps which im sure will be available on the ps3 later on. I still havent got the extra maps for mw1, and I have lots of fun playing on the default ones that came with the game.

I'm not starting a Console war here but why is it being a lame ass try hard on PS3 users to play COD?

that's that marketing ploy - because you have to wait for the DLC maps.

Anyway, that statement from Infinity Ward saying there is no biased game development is bullshit.

They will write it in one primary development environment (probably PC or 360 based, since they are so similar), then port/test on the PS3 as part of their routine.

It would be unbelievably inefficient and stupid to be developing 2 primary forks at the same time.

I wasn't console hating! I was spreading the "why you hating on any console" love. I really don't give two fucks what I play it on, as long as its fun. I play it on the ps3, its fun. If I had an xbox, I'd play it on that if it was more fun. If I actually like playing games THAT much, I'd get a PC... But I have a ps3, and I find it highly entertaining when I play against my friends. I don't care where I rank, I find playing with my thumbs just as easy as playing on the computer, and in the end, its just a video game.

Honestly, if tomorrow microsoft said they'd fixed the hardware failure issues and you didn't have to pay for online gaming, I'd buy that thing it two seconds. I saw the box set of the two GOW and two Halo games with the xbx for 450 and I almost got it yesterday... its really just the hardware issues stopping me now..

Feel the console love people. Lets all just get excited about the awesome game thats probably going to result in a lot of fractured relationships between couples and the sheer pleasure of schooling little spotty 14 year old kids who are too busy screaming at their mothers when they're told to clean their room

MS have fixed the issue.

And less than $5 a month for a service that works well is totally worth the money. I'll admit, I was in the same boat about paying for Live, but you can't argue with $5. Drink one less beer each month and you can afford it.

Yeah I know they fixed the red ring sting of death, but isn't there some E74 or something error now instead?

However, for the sake of not hijacking this thread, can someone tell me if, from experience, there is a difference with MW on either of the consoles (I know pc people will say that is the "superior input device", but I dont really care).

The E74 error is a general hardware fault, so if it does happen, which would be rare, its covered by Microsofts 3 year warranty.
