I'm keen for this, i'm currently doing pub of the week with people from work, every week we try a different place that offers a special. This week was JB O'Riely's in Leederville $15.00 pie and pint night.

Most of the group are from over east and after being here 6 months only new of the pubs in the city due to after work drinks so they have branched out and some of us locals have joined in.

I'm easy where and when, and i'm sure a few of us have the entertainment book so we can take something off the bill!

That week of the 24th is no good for me either. I'll be back east for the yearly ski mission. Incidentally, Warren Miller was pretty good tonight. Not as good as past ones, but it's always a good way to get fired up for the ski season

How about mid July instead of late July? I know it's a bit slower over here, but a couple of weeks notice should really be more than enough warning

I am definitley up for a Supper Club meet!

JB O'Reily's pub do a fantastic breakfast, probably pricey (not sure as it was bought for me) but easily the best breakfast I have had in Perth.

As a slight diversion to the formation of the Perth supper club, I went to Flipside Burger Bar last night in Freo. Damn that was a nice burger. Had The Kenny Burger, which is a chick pea & sweet potato patty with some chilli jam and coriander. The rest of their menu looks the goods too. Lots of nice snobby ingredients, good quality stuff, but at a very reasonable price.

I'm thinking next time I end up there I'll have to try and pick my own ingredients and get them to make it up. Real shame they weren't open when Mojos kicked us all out at 1am

I've been itching for one since I woke up this morning. Haven't tried the chips, but they sound alright too. After 3 powerades and a berocca, I think I'm ready to brave the world, although the difficult part is getting there

Hey Gus, there is a little lunchbar on the strip between the Vic Park shops and the Balmoral, that does a tasty burger on turkish bread, the tandoori chicken is good. Not huge big burgers, but fresh and the chips ar good too, always ask for extra crispy!

Edit: think they are next to/near that organic/health cafe.

Would it be easier for people if we didn't do a Friday night, perhaps we could go on a Thursday that way more people are free as lots of people have committments on Friday's and Saturday's

Went to Matsuri in the city recently. Really like that place. Good atmosphere for a group of friends. Great value for money Japanese food.

Another one of my favourite places around Perth would be The Greenwood. Awesome food for a pub/tavern. The lamb with cous cous I had recently was sooooo nice.

Bilby's Burgers in Claremont owns over all the burger bars that have popped up around Perth in the last 12 months.

The Prophet is great! Have radio on Wednesday nights so I am out but hope you guys enjoy yourselves. Bookings are essential too.

Is that the joint in the city that has a small frontage, but goes all the way back along an alleyway type of thing? If it is, I've always wondered whether it was any good. My experience with those types of places that do that type of cuisine in Sydney is that they've been rather average.

It is the place behind woodside with the small frontage but goes all the way back.

I think it is really good, there is all kind of ribs, steak and chicken plus burgers aas well i think. I've been there many times and always had a good night! The onion loaf is a must as well... i'm yet to make it to dessert as i'm always too full, but i want to try their choc sundae

Yeah, New Norcia in Mt Hawthorn would be your best option. You can pick up New Norcia bread at smaller outlets also, like Carine shops if you are in the northern suburbs.

A selection of prawns, marinated octopus and mussels chilled
served with a lemon dressing
Served with O:TU Sauvignon Blanc '08, Marlborough, NZ

Salmone alla Griglia
Grilled cold smoked salmon fillet served on Jerusalem artichokes
and leek roesti, accompanied by sauce vierge
Served with Miles from Nowhere Chardonnay '08, Margaret River, WA
Cosciotto d'Anatra
Duck leg confit served on pear and rocket salad in aged balsamic dressing
Served with Rosabrook Cabernet Merlot '05, Margaret River, WA
Arista d'Agnello
Chargrilled rack of lamb served medium on a bed of sweet
potato gratin with green beans and port sauce
Served with Rosabrook Shiraz '05, Margaret River, WA
Crme Brle al Cioccolato
Bittersweet dark chocolate crme brle with cherry
and hazelnut financier
Served with Chalk Hill Moscato '07, Mc Laren Vale, SA

Yeah thats the one. Their burgers are yum. Edit: were you talking about the burger place in the city or Tony Romas?

Did anyone see there was something in the West/Sunday Times a few weeks ago that featured all the new burther bars in Perth? Bilbys was best for price, meat and buns. The one in the city got the best rating though - although it is more epensive.
