Resopal Shallware, in around 6 weeks... Stay tuned.

Did I MENTION how exciting it is to have so much dope new AUSSIE stuff coming out atm? BRILLIANT! I'm still particularly hyped by Mike Callander's latest effort. Dopeness. Keep it comin' pirates! Please check out the Pinksilver stuff too - some really thoughtful, new, minimal-leaning bits...A label well supporting. AND (finally!) some new stuff from Jimi Polar on Junkbeats coming soon...as well as rumors of a new album from Jamie Lloyd soon. Proper!

What you got in the pipelines, Vancy?

East Point Sounds EPSS007 (Junkbeats)
https://www.beatport.com/en-US/html/...446/that_place

EPSS007 :: One and Only | ‘that place’ (a:: Original mix b:: Re-edit c:: Kriece remix)
Oh yes, all at junkbeats HQ are excited about this one (and why wouldn’t we be?) – what better way to break the winter chill than spice it up with some acid breaks? Gracing the our most eastern point from the other side of the planet, we take a departure from the norm and start EPS onto our journey into an old school review, with the first instalment taking us straight back to the mid 90’s acid breakbeat sound that filled many a side room and many an underground club party.

For EPSS007 we introduce our musical compadre the’ One and Only’ quite literally from Russia with love, for the that place single we teamed him up with Kriece to see what the lads could conjure.
A :: Working up an original that is a DJ tool for serious players that need a bridging track to get them climbing up the walls before you drop the reedit...
B :: The re-edit is a breakbeat builder that is going to give anyone that has been on the floor for more than a decade some serious flashbacks while keeping the Nuevo clique puzzled as to this ‘new sound’...
C :: Kriece takes us into more familiar territory with his unique twist on well tested progressive, twisting the pads into well charted progressive territory for those playing the later sets, bigger rooms and festivals...

http://www.inthemix.com.au/forum/sho...d.php?t=256630

Coming next month (fingers crossed) we’ve got a very special treat for ya’ll (yeeha). Continuing our journey into the old school LowKey and Nude are bringing back the dub house disco sound of the early 90’s we nabbed their track ‘Easter’ a while back and sent it to Aussie fave Jamie Stevens to work his Melbourne magic on... Stay tuned.

Here's a new one from our techno label Elektrax Recordings.

e383 - The Signal EP (elek036)

Quote:

The Signal was produced in March 2009.
In this Sci-Fi inspired track I’ve wanted to capture the idea of a coded alien radio signal travelling across the vastness of space to… well who knows where?
What is the signal? and where did it come from?… well… no-one knows…
e383

After last apperance on Mocha Records 004 and a big EP,C4 is back again
with a nice 3 tracker of techno driven beats. What we have here is a
mixture of flavours crossing through slower club beats of techno.Capturing
the feel of electro house in the first track "Masan Chunk" and travelling
through realms of minimal scapes with the second track "Crank Shaft" all
folowed by tight rhythms and strong production. For end, none the less superb
3rd track "Colour Of Real" presents classic techno with lyrics for a perfect
listening material ready for club action.C4 presents again what he's all about.

[CESIRIAS 001] V/A - Trouserbeard EP (New Label!!)

Emerging from the London underground scene this new label is starting off with a blasting various artist EP entitled 'Trouserbeard EP'. The idea is to provide you with 'Original Gross Beats' on vinyl and digital formats to cater for all your audio needs.

The concept of the label arose from the current confusion which occurs with the pigeonholing and separatism of musical genres, sub-genres and more. The influences of the label lie mainly in the areas of Techno, Hard Techno and Hardcore, but rather than being either one or the other, the music is presented as a mixture of these influences under the umbrella concept of 'Original Gross Beats'.

VARIOUS ARTISTS - TROUSERBEARD EP

A1.Concrete Djz - NK08 - 05:45
A2.Flotek & Mario Kinle - Zerbrochene Vergangenheit - 05:23
B1.Lexis - Methods Pt.2 - 06:14
B2.Miss Kosmix ft Jeff Amadeus' mixer - Slaughter House - 06:37

Little Nobody
Get Away From It All (Justin Robertson remix)

[Hypnotic Room Special Edition]

The propaganda hype from Hypnotic Room HQ...

“It promises an escape that sounds anything but idyllic, as terse robot voices intone the title phrase over stuttering, minimalist break beats… a leftfield electronic delight that’s well worth getting hold of.”

Thus assessed journalist Chris Downton in a glowing review that appeared last year in the pages of esteemed music mag, 3D World. The subject? Little Nobody’s iconic (and often equally iconoclastic) track, ‘Get Away From It All’.

A year later, we asked Justin Robertson to remix the work, counting on his experience rebooting Bjork, Happy Mondays, Fatboy Slim, Luke Slater, Ben Mill and Felix Da Housecat, and thinking that the mix-master would have an absolute field day here – which he apparently did, snapping up the invitation without hesitation, giving the ingredients a good hard shake, and coming back with a mind-bending, cool, supremely innovative concoction that stunned everybody.

FEEDBACK FROM PEOPLE FAR MORE WORTHY THAN ME:

(meaning I'm so chuffed I have to share it!)

"The Original mix is filthy!"
Orlando Voorn

"Original is a nice and submerging tune, wicked when the kick drops in!"
Luke's Anger

"Really cool sound, this is the sort of tune that would make my night if dropped the right way in a set. Really playful vibes to rock the f**k out to..."
Bill Hunter (BeatGeek Records)

"Deep and dark techno in original mix. Whow!!"
Satoshi Matsumoto (DJ Inkling)

"That Justin Robertson remix is very nice."
Steve Law (Zen Paradox)

"Solid track!"
Captain Funk (Japan)

"Original has a great fat sound. I like it!"
DJ Warp (Japan)

"I like the original, and the JR remix rocks also."
Dave Tarrida

"Robertson’s production is 1st class here and the 2009 version of the original is just filthy!"
Ben Mill (Bitch Shift)

"Wow, this is nice! I love what Justin did to the original track."
DJ Hi-Shock

Cartoon Beats debut EP
Cartoon Beats, a new independent electronic music label being run out of Dunedin, New Zealand, is pleased to announce the release of the label's debut EP, Ladies Style / The Jacket.

The EP features 2 original break beat tracks from Dunedin producers SoNic Smith and Haszari. They've also swapped parts and remixed each other's tracks; Timaru producer Stray Theories has also contributed remixes.

Ladies Style is a true breaks anthem, with thick slabs of bassline competing with cut up & glitched horn stabs and a big vocal sample. Haszari's remix switches it up into a fidget house banger, with extended filtered breaks for those peak time sets. Stray Theories' remix builds on the original and adds synthetic textures to produce a lush & expansive rework.

The Jacket is a deep dark comic break beat chugger, with plenty of air, contributing a lovely warmth that your subwoofer will relish. The Full Metal remix from SoNic takes us back to the early 80s; with brown-sound guitar riffery coupled with 8-bit synth action. Stray Theories once more delivers the goods, reconstructing the original into a space-breaks future classic of epic scope.
