Some more enhanced images.. (pioneer countdown back)

* Got total tracks and track length labels back 2 front

- The tag button in the top image may mean you can tag tracks, IE. banger, pissweak etc etc (whatever names you give me)
- Then from the tag button it shows a list of the tags and when you go into the tag item it lists the tracks
- If you look where the numbered bar is on the top image (the overlay from the pioneer count down..
- Beneath is a bar which looks like it will show where the track is up to, therefore it most probably will show where the cues are in the track
- Therefore the unit would have a cue selecting button or whatever it is like those DVJ1000 or whatever..
- The button next to the menu button surrounded by that ring must have some importance, plus the small round one next to it.
- Furthermore while I was going through the levels, there is a fair bit of writing or buttons or something to the right of the raised section. (above green light)

so, by the sounds of it, similar features to this?

but with a better screen

Quote:

The Radius 1000 features a super-cool design that not only boosts functionality but also looks great in the DJs booth. A bright display shows track and artist ID tags for quick reference, and a red LED visual marker rotates around the jog wheel to show you what point within the track the CD or MP3 is currently playing

.......except the Pioneer won't break down after 6 months.

And the Pioneer will come with software to organise music and pre-set cue points etc. just as your typical DVS system does.

but by all means buy American Audio

i think the point is more that all these "new" features have been available for years, so it hardly the "dawning of a new species." It's pioneer finally adding the features and all the fanboys beating off over it.

If they have any brains it will be MIDI
Pioneer are idiots if they lock it to their software and exile the current DVS users

I doubt it, they will want to keep it all Pioneer in my opinion. Though it is a nice thought!

Well I for one will be pretty disappointed if they omit midi - just doesn't make sense.
Surely the "flagship" would encorporate the features of all below it?

Watch the MEP7000 vid on storedj, you can run serato/tracktor natively.... would be fucked if they didnt do the same for cdj2000

btw the pioneer software (DJS) is absolute utter trash!!!

So, in a little more than three hours, we'll have details of it all?

Will it be available for sale in three hours (similar to the way Apple launch products), or will we just be able to look at the full specifications, images etc?

Here is a thought I had. I hope it hasn't been mentioned previously, as that would leave me feeling like a right dill!

We all know that club CDJ1000s, as a general rule, are treated like shit. Regardless of the DJ booth legislation, drinks will always be spilt and CDJs will be treated heavy-handedly by the flocks of DJs that play on the many weekends through the life of the CDJ.

So...

If USB sticks are going to store the music, how easily and frequently will be USB port be damaged? (You can imagine drunk or "chemically-enhanced" DJs jamming in, and yanking out their USB sticks constantly!)

Thoughts?

get around it by using a usb extension cable, it stays plugged in... replace a $5 cable when it breaks...

good train of thought btw

Overhype
Pioneer marketing has overhyped this product and the release will lead to disappointment.
It's just a cd player with hard drive. Better than mk3's- yes, but not worth this hype

it's probably gonna be closer to the Reloop RMP-3 b:

i can't imagine how big the internal hard drive would have to be, but using a USB source makes sense... i don't see what all the hype is about either, it's just pioneer playing market catch up me thinks... bit of a gamble at the moment as well...

Good thinking that!

How many clubs will actually look to implement this though?

I hope it is better than the usb style on the cdj 400. I mean its all fine and stuff, but compared to the cd, it has slower skip time when forwarding through a song, slower read time etc.

Not by heaps but marginally.

So its just a Denon DNS 5500, with out the spinning platter or the dual deck fuctionality?

Interesting to see how much it goes for.

Guess it'll be a good time to keep an eye out for second hand MK3 going cheap!!!
