Which ITunes are you using?

I use 7, i once upgraded to a later version only to have non stop errors, unable to burn discs and also computer freezing on me.....

Needless to say i found the issue was from Itunes, and downgraded back to version 7 and have no more problems

Nothing wrong with a Mac. The things they can do, they do them well, hell even better than the rest. But there's a hell of a lot of things they CAN'T do. Unfortunately those things I need to be able to do. If all I did was browse the internet, listen to music and shit like that I'd be all over them. Problem is, if something on my PC dies I just go down the road to MSY, buy a new *insert quality part here* and then I'm all patched up in one day. Not two or more weeks. That alone is enough to make me wanna stick with windows. That and the fact I play games other than Blizzard titles.

edit: Itunes works for some reason again if you guys didn't catch on. Can a mod change the thread title to "FUCK itunes is awesome!"

Yeah, I have a love hate relationship with it.

Oh wait, yes they can. Have you tried using Bootcamp? Obviously you have to pay through your teeth for a capable rig, but that's slightly beyond your point.

At the end of the day, if you're a gamer, you wouldn't buy a Mac for gaming anyway. That's what my Athlon is for

I moved away from PC games for a really long time but I've started to get back into them. Console games have been where it's at for the last few years. Some games will always be better sitting on an office chair with a keyboard and mouse though.

And while at it, is there any easy way to rip a CD to .WAV outside of opening the files with Audacity et al and extracting as .WAV?

It should be under general -> import settings. Choose MP3 then custom and you can pick whatever bitrate you want.

Ok idiots. No screen shots cause I'm on my iPhone but...

Edit - Preferences - Import Settings

Select MP3 Encoder from the first drop down, Custom from the second. Change the Stereo Bit to 320kbps.

Select WAV Encoder instead of MP3 for WAV.

why does itunes try and update every few days, and why does it keep trying to become my default media player?

whether it's bloated or not is irrelevant, I liken it to the kid at school that no one likes, but the little prick just keeps hanging around

I have a virus-ridden PC at home as well as a new iMac... I can turn both screens upside down and write BOOBLESS quite easily with EITHER keyboard

..now what was my point? hmm

oh yes. The only reason I keep the PC is to burn CDs for gigs, as I cbf using iTunes or the mac to do same - for some reason I can't get the full text of the track name to come through on the CDJs nor print out as easily the tracklists in the format I like. Otherwise, the PC remains switched off and collecting dust... After over a decade using Microsoft systems I must say Mac shits all over them for ease of use, peace of mind, and user friendliness

What do you like for DJ'ing? I find iTunes CD Text burning works perfectly.

If you really don't like it have you tried Toast Titanium?

It works fine for me... I'm quote anal about CD labelling/text etc.

Toast was very hit and miss for me too. The only thing I have to do with iTunes is to create a playlist with the name of the CD I want to burn. I can't get it to burn with the album name (no biggy though)
