Rekids
This label deserves a thread of its own in my opinion. It's by far my favourite label. Lately the releases have been a bit underwhelming unforunately.

But luckily REKIDS have redeemed themselves today with the release of Discombobulated by Chris Liebing and Klave by Speedy J. This is my definition of FUCKING TECHNO

Check the release out here.

There is redempton and then there is dominance

Speedy is a master and Liebing has been producing top quality techno for two years now. I am sceptical about the quality of some of his releases pre 2007.

I am glad to see Liebing releasing on a label like Rekids as well. It is all another string to the bow, Discombobulated is a much more restrained release than the usual Liebing track.

Klave is immense. There is nothing else that needs to be said about it.

All we need is for Edwards to get his techno hat back on release some more gold and do a CLR podcast.

By the way, check out Tommy Four Seven - Surma (Speedy J Dub) I think it is a track you were after from Klock's podcast.

WHAT?!

Liebing has owned it for years. I'm almost the complete opposite of you:I haven't found much of his output since 2007 worth getting excited about.

That being said, that new one on Rekids is awesome.

Tell me about it. Whilst I love his 'tribal' side, he has made some of the most destructive Techno and I wish he continued to do so. Hopefully redemption isn't too far off.

It is probably 2005 onwards. I wasn't really thinking it through.

The Collabs producions (see Metalism) were fantastic but IMO his solo work has been going from strength to strength - see Auf Und EP and Tubular Bell EP. My Liebing love started late in 2005 (when I first found out who he was curtosey of his EM) which seems to be the start of him refining his sound and bringing everything down a notch. I tried to get into some of the earlier stuff but found a lot of it too hard.

See my first introduction to techno was through the loopy bangers, so I find a lot of it all too soft for me these days. I call most of what get's called techno these days tech house lol.

Back to Rekids, favourite non-Radio Slave release would be Zahn's Stranger (to stability) (Original), forget Faki's remix.

These are some of my favourite non-Radio Slave Rekids releases:

Media Player
Runaway - Brooklyn Club Jam - YouTube

Space Invaders (Andomat 3000 Remix) - Luke Solomon

Mr G - U Askin'

Have you got the Rekids Revolution compilation Carramrod? There's a lot of great music on there. Spencer's mix doesn't excite me much unfortunately, but this is due to the fact he's restricted to mixing only Rekids tunes. I think Radio Slave would have done a better job.

I missed this. It would be better than most things money can buy if Edwards put his techno hat on for a CLR podcast

You can't be the original imo. It's such a unique track, and would be devastating played at the right place and right time.

New Rekids release.

Pretty dope tune. I've heard it in a recent set I've got. It's a tad slow for my liking, needs pitching up.

Media Player
YouTube

It's quite hypnotic

It looks like we have all been ignoring Rekids for a while now.

As Edward's productions lost their identity the label also seemed to stagnate. Of course there were always going to be some nice releases here and there but it seems that in the last 6 months Rekids has evolved again and is now embracing genuine deep and raw house sounds.

As I think about it there is enough to suggest that I got a little ahead of myself by posting this but it has been a solid year for Rekids thanks to Kraviz, The Rhythm Odyssey and Nikola Gala; and some nice cameo work from DJ QU, Edwards and C2.

NINA KRAVIZ - GHETTO KRAVIZ - REKIDS059
