Having inherited my grandfather's old car, which only has a tape deck in it atm, I have been going though my extensive tape collection the last few months. The little gem in there at the moment has Sunbeam - Outside World on it.

What a beautiful little track, and oh, the memories.

What are you all listening to that's oldskool?
Astride my horse I soar. He trots the air; the earth sings when he touches it; the horn of his hoof is more musical than the pipe of Hermes. He is pure air and fire; the dull elements of earth and water never appear in him. His neigh is the bidding of a monarch, and his countenance enforces homage.

Ah, you're welcome! I was uploading these for a mate in the States, busting through my shoeboxes to get the originals, only found the 2nd tape, then discovered I'd previously dubbed them onto a computer drive a while back and just needed to tidy 'em up. Which kinda answers your question, I don't know where I've misplaced Tape 1 as far as getting both covers scanned for you goes. Will keep an eye out.

Nah, just checked 'em all, the links are fine. Note the link takes you to a page where you can hit a download button to initiate the download (rather than right-click-save the direct links I posted).

Hope that helps, let me know if you're still stuck.

I was after Jasper Part 1, I noticed that it is all Part 2. Do you have Part 1 uploaded somewhere?

I have a copy of the original Jasper 2 with the cover art though, I will see if I can find a scanner somewhere.

Also, I have asked this question before but why not again hey, does anyone know the track at the end of Side A that progresses into Side B? The track that is straight after Etnica's pearler. It's got a real old school goa feel about and am so keen to identify it.

Your a absolute champion mate!

I haven't heard Mercury Mixes Part 1 for well over a decade, glad to get familiar with it again. Both Part 1 and Part 2 are in my top 5 old skool mixes of all time I reckon. Unfortunately, it has opened a pandoras box as I know have to track all the tracks

If you are able to ID that other track in question it would be the icing on the cake.

^^^ I've PMed Japser, though I don't know how often he checks ITM, so in failing that, I'll shoot him an email.

In the meantime, an ID I can muster together is...

Mercury Mixes - Part 2 (SIDE A)
27min-32min

Buzz & Ace - Alone EP (1994)
B1 "Killer" (4 Ours-Mix) 5:48
http://www.discogs.com/Buzz-Ace-Alone/release/162039

(Having said that, Lampwick on here said it could actually be the title track 'Alone', but I've always been under the impression it was the B-side 'Killer. If anyone knows, share the beans).

Thanks for that mate.

I can help out with a few more of the ID's for Part 2.

Side A
Spicelab - Falling (Intro track)
Etnica - Tribite / Astral Way (My memory is failing me at point to which one)

Side B
Astral Projection - Mahadeva
A@E Dept - The Rabbits Name Was
Acrid Abeyance - Bon Appetit (Album) - Not sure which track
Microwave Prince - The Color of Love (Second Last)
Analog Perfect - Costic Winds (Last track)

Looking forward to hearing back.

At the moment I'm plugging away Jasper Part 1 and Hallucinogen - The Lone Deranger.

Thanks again Spectrum! It's soooo nice to be able to listen to them again- been a few years.

Hey, check this link out, (if you don't know about it already): (It has a lot of cool 90s stuff):

http://sydneytapearchive.blogspot.com

This has Paul Holden's Field of Dreams 3 I have also been looking for forever. I didn't know this but it turns out this was a special promo before the actual rave. That's why I had problems finding it - the actual Field of Dreams 3 is something completely different.

You've just kicked off a memory there, that's right, there were two FOD tapes circulating at the time, one by Paul Holden, and now I can't remember which DJ did the second one...

Okay, while tidying up the house this morning I've got Vagas "The Brain" on.

"Life is like, life is like a dance, show me, show the way to go..."

Correction to my message- two above: It was Paul Holden's Field of Dreams 4 I have been looking around for, not 3. The "true" FOD 4 is titled "Mark Dynamix." Field of Dreams 3 is also done by Paul Holden. I have no idea about the first two though.

Ok, so confirming you have *both* 3 & 4 now then?

I've got 'em both here if you/anyone wants em. And yeah, both are Paul Holden. Interesting you say there's a possibly a 'true' version by Mark Dynamix, whether official/not, I'd not heard of that at all.

re: http://sydneytapearchive.blogspot.com/ Yeah, cool blog, but of course, needs more tapes!

Something I really should re-upload that I think you'll enjoy is DJ Hi-Shock's:
- RAVE GENETIX - DJ HI-SHOCK (HIS 018 )
- TRANZENERGY - DJ HI-SHOCK (HIS 019 )

Now there's some seriously good techno/trance from '94.

Leave it with me...

Oh, and while we're getting all nostalgic re your Aussie holiday 90s style, I take it you've got Hardsequencer (from Germany)'s tapes from his own Aussie tour in 1994:

Hardsequencer - Australia '94 (Side A).mp3
http://www.mediafire.com/?uyiyyi6xafl

Hardsequencer - Australia '94 (Side B).mp3
http://www.mediafire.com/?apkbf3qzfxt

Plenty of great moments on that one, fo' sure.

Thanks for the additional links! You guys know much more than I do, but I happened across this and downloaded it: I found it titled "Field of Dreams 4." Here's the link for the download:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=RLQ68X83

I did download Hardsequencer, I really liked it! (Part of my own personal library now).

Yeah- when you have some time put Rave Genetix and Tranzenergy on there.

And I definately have 3 and 4- (both 4's - though still confused about that. My personal favorite was Paul Holden anyway)

Wow eh? I wonder if this was a legit release, whether truly Dynamix or even for FoD4. Hmmm... anyone know for sure? The tracks are sure smack-on for the era (circa 1985) and therefore in time for FoD4 in early 1996. Seems reasonably mixed too, so could be the real deal? Plenty of tracks in there that I was crankin' back then.

EDIT: scratch that, something weird happens in part 4 with the way DJ Tim + Misjah's Access just cuts in mid-intro after Poltergeist's Vicious Cycles, then as it goes into part 5 it plays that Psalms track (IDed here the other month), then cuts out mid-way and returns to something much slower. Seems pretty dodgy for an official mix. The plot thickens.

Definitely 2 tapes circulating for FOD4, and that second one *might* have been Dynamix... Just not sure.

Anyone friends with PH or Dynamix to ask? Anyone in touch with David Haran?

Solved! The Dynamix set on the tape archive is the official Dynamix FOD4 set. The other one is the same tape but Side A and B are swapped and a few other tracks have been tacked on to the end.

Continuing magic from 1993, here's:

Drum Club - Sound System (Underworld Mix)

Media Player

What a stunner intro, eh? One of those melt-into-the-back-of-the-couch-for-several-weeks-only-to-wake-and-discover-only-a-few-minutes-have-passed kinda moments.

What a stunner intro, eh? One of those melt-into-the-back-of-the-couch-for-several-weeks-only-to-wake-and-discover-only-a-few-minutes-have-passed kinda moments.

Great as usual - wow you must have a monster collection!

One of my favourites from that period too. Such an epic tune. It's a standout on Digweed's Renaissance 2.

you are correct Discoloop! The FOD4 Dynamix tape is official. David Haran and I pressed up about 200 copies on cassette. If you look hard enough online, you'll find a CD version which has been remastered (straight from the DAT, not cassette) which I put up online about 5 years ago, and subsequently got shared around.

Here's a little treat for all you old skool lovers. This is a fresh mix, recorded Dec 09.
Only streaming, no downloading i'm afraid due to copyright issues.
