Well, I thought this was well overdue and believed other (better) posters would have done this by now BUT I just had to as this guy continually 'wow's me, especially with his Live sets of gritty, heavy, Tech and Tech house. Not quick, but usually tuff and dirtier than a 2 dollar hooker.

He runs Fachwerk, a label doin good things and gigs live quite regularly as well as DJ's.
He has really found himself a good little niche as often sitting somewhere between the new school of Techno and the tuffer, traditional sounds. Anyway, enough of my ramblings and poor selling of the man!

Check out his SSGS mix (chris can link?)

AND you have to check out the excerpts of his live sets here:
http://soundcloud.com/mike-dehnert

This guy is rapidly becoming one of my fave artists.

peace.

Dehnert is THE MAN.

I gave the set below another work out yesterday on the drive back from the peninsula and I am still recovering. It is something that anyone who has even a passing interest in techno should be listening to.

This guy is fucking quality. I hadn't heard of him until about 18 months ago when the Freiraum EP came out. One O Eight has been near the top of my playlist since then. Absolute belter that track among many other belters of his.

Yep..tis quality. A more mellow side for sure. Still heavy on the bass...which I love. Track 3 for me...I think he does his best work with a splash of aggression

A fresh Dehnert live set for download*.

http://www.factmag.com/2010/05/03/fa...-mike-dehnert/

Quote:

The set was recorded last month at Berghain, just one of the clubs that Dehnert razes to the ground on a regular basis. With a sleek but muscular sound, bass-rooted and with unbelievable flex and skip to its rhythms, there’s something wonderfully urgent and essential about Dehnert’s tracks – not a single note or drum-hit is wasted. Though the lurching syncopations might at times make you think of dubstep and garage, fundamentally we never deviate from the main business of industrial-burnished and tunnelistic techno. It’s serious stuff, for sure, but it’s totally ecstatic to boot.

Berlin-based Dehnert has been releasing music under his own name since 2007, chiefly via his own Fachwerk imprint. Fachwerk has become one of the most trusted techno labels there is, always delivering the club-coshing goods, and acting primarily as a showcase for Dehnert’s productions but also thosae of Sascha Rydell and Roman Lindau. Dehnert has also recently been enjoying an association with Rotterdam’s Clone Records, releasing the ‘Umlaut 2′ 12″ last year on Clone Basement Series (b/w Levon Vincent’s remix, one of 2009’s biggest club tracks), and with another coming imminently. Oh, and then there’s MD2, his ultra-limited white label (or, more accurately, red label) series, the first instalment of which dropped earlier this year, and the second of which is due out this month. As if that there’s not enough, further 12″s in the next couple of months are promised on Echochord and Fachwerk, and a 212″ Fachwerk album is planned for a little later in the year. 2010 is going to a be a big one for this industrious and humble hero of the underground.

Taken from a genuine live set (as opposed to the kind of chancer’s “live” set that’s so common these days), performed with on-the-fly modulation and arrangement and with noticeable breaks between tracks, this 30-minute cut is a perfect introduction to Dehnert’s power and prowess, and a pleasing affirmation for those who already know it well. Listen loud and listen well.

FACT mix 146 – Mike Dehnert

Just thought I'd put the names Roman Lindau and Sascha Rydell out there. They both release of Fachwert Records / Digital and push the "Dehnert style*".

Lindau is going to get some recognition for appearing on Klock's new Berghain mix but he has been at it for quite a while now. To give you an idea, Lindau's work seems to be more influenced by dub than Dehnert.

Rydell only came to my attention recently. His Serrage EP is a diverse take on the style and stands up against Dehnerts and Lindau's works. .

* Apologies if claiming the style on behalf the D-Bomb offends anyone. His works pre-date anyone elses and I am not aware of anyone else that sounds like Dehnert does. If there is someone else out there please name him or her or forever hold your peace.

New EP "Air Frais" out on Echochord Colour.

It is as significant a variation on the sound Dehnert has developed over the last few years as there has been. Not that it matters to me because even the most subtle variations make his music different enough to flaw me time and time again.

This is no exception.

I have seriously underrated Dehnert's year thus far.

The Dico EP is excellent. B1 is easily one of the tunes of the year. The mans ability to subtly build rythm and intensity in a track is unmatched (no obvious break downs).

As referred to above the Frias EP is sick and the Part 2 LP had some bombs on it as well.

Dehnert is hands down my favourite producer at the moment.

If you are readng this and are not on the wagon, you know what to do.

I caught Dehnert, with Roman Lindau and Sascha Rydell rock Areana in Berlin on Friday... they left me speechless. These guys would rip Australia apart.

I'll push from this end and you guys pull... lets get in Fachwerk Australia!

Also Grounded Theory Berlin, are the guys put on the Party here. They know their shit and doing some wicked stuff here in Berlin: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Berlin...n/139367467505

Big Mike is going to start 2010 with a bang.

He has an LP to be released on Delsin on 21 March 2011. Before the mayhem there is going to be a teaser (a "before" EP) released on 14 February 2011.

Details are below.

Mike Dehnert - Before Framework EP [Delsin Records]

Tracklist:

a1. Mike Dehnert - Phase Response
b1. Mike Dehnert - Moment
b2. Mike Dehnert - Discrete

Mike Dehnert - Framework LP [Delsin Records]

Tracklist:

1. Mike Dehnert - Intro
2. Mike Dehnert - Infix
3. Mike Dehnert - Framework
4. Mike Dehnert - Palindrom
5. Mike Dehnert - Quattro
6. Mike Dehnert - Klartext
7. Mike Dehnert - Teilfolge
8. Mike Dehnert - Inversion
9. Mike Dehnert - Kontextfrei
10. Mike Dehnert - Beatmatching
11. Mike Dehnert - Outro

Part of the Delsin schpiel:

Quote:

New school techno producer, DJ and live performer Mike Dehnert is to release his first album proper on Delsin Records in March 2011.

In just three years, 30 year old Berlin born, bred and based artist Dehnert has gone from unknown talent to underground hero with (as revered record store Hardwax calls it) his very own ‘raw techno’ sound making waves with his own constantly excellent Fachwerk label, as well as the odd outing on hallowed imprints like Dutch outlet Clone Basement Series, as well as dub techno stable Echochord Colour, super reticent outlet MD2 and now Delsin, where he finds himself at home amongst the future music of talented cohorts Delta Funktionen, Redshape, A Made Up Sound and more...

I have listened to as much as I can and everything sounds great. The EP is deep and chunky and, pleasingly, the LP sounds more like an album (or at least a techno album) than his previous digital albums which felt like collecions of tracks.

Inevitably it is all just Dehnert techno and therefore liable to criticism in the eyes of some. To me it is the deeper, housier Dehnert at work and it represents another of his brilliant variations.

I purchased Framework on Saturday.

I really enjoy thefact that they provide the digital downloads. I've used Delsin before and it must have been before they started providing the D/Ls.

I checked "my downloads" and before framework was still available a month after my purchase.

Good on Delsin for providing a quality service.

First release for a new Dehnert label Colombage is out (distributed by clone). New member to the Fachwerk trio has been added and if that isn't a made up name he is one of the luckiest dudes on the planet.

Reno Wurzbacher / Mike Dehnert - Miju EP

The clone schpiel:

Quote:

Colombage is a new division of Fachwerk Records focusing on more house releated tracks. Like before Fachwerk and Mike Dehnert stay close to home with selecting contributing artist for his label... After long time buddy's Sasha Rydell and Roman Lindau he add's a new artist to his roster... Roman's long time friend Reno Wurzbacher. Mr Wurzbacher delivers a smooth warm track that feels like a warm breeze on a summer night. Friendly and nice! Flip side is done by Mike Dehnert himself with a typical track for him... but lets be honnest, not so housey after all :-) Techy chords, fierce percussion with nice rides and slowly building... thats how we like our Mike Dehnert tracks!

Two new releases from the D-bomber

1. Mike Dehnert - Bricolage EP out on Fachwerk

http://clone.nl/item20637.html

2. Mike Dehnert - Oblique which is his third release for the Clone Basement Series

http://clone.nl/item20201.html

The Fachwerk release is more traditional Dehnert while the Clone release represens a subtler side to the man.

Check out the samples at the links above.

I also want to brag that after two failed attempts I snaped up MDRL EP 1 on vinyl
