Has anyone heard about this?

http://en.akihabaranews.com/38897/mu...ock-your-world

I know the article is pretty sketchy, but the photo's look believable and news from my twitter feed seems legit.

Or am i just really, really behind.

Seems like pretty wicked kit, but what does it do that the 800 can't?

Is that a touchscreen in the middle? Lots of faders.

I know what everyone will want to know though, has the sound quality been improved?

EDIT - http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/content/pr...s/DJM2000.html
Official press release.

Turns out it has an EFX-1000 built in.

Fucking great, now all we're going to here is Bloody Beetroots plus noise effect which equals possibly the worst sound ever created!

I'm surprised they haven't included an instant mix effect.

Cant wait to see the RRP on this bad boy!
EDIT: thanks audit. and fuck that.
Be interesting to see what can actually be done with it. Not really clear what the touch pad is for?

6 individual effects processors. does this mean using different effects on 6 different channels all at the same time? only 4 channels tho

Also i reckon the effect on/off button position could be troublesome when xfader @ B and channel 3 all the way down + gut full of booze. lol

Anyways spose just wait for vids now n start trying to find a buyer for one of me kidneys.

just putting it out there, why does pioneer have the feeling to make the back of their mixers so fucking confusing, like has anyone see the 909, like treally, that is some trippy shit

The way I read it, it means 6x4 = 24 effects, because you can assign each effect individually to each channel.

That touchscreen thing is so fucking useless IMO.

I can see Digweed and a few Xone:92 fanatics using it to great effect though for those absolutely seamless mixes but the majority won't even touch it... and the Xone:92 users won't switch from the Xone: 92 anyway.

A white noise effect? Sweet now Dubfire doesn't even need to make music anymore.

White noise effect?

- Will it have ducking?
- Can i use the filter on the white noise?

If so, all i need is a bass synth, a lead synth and this, and i can do eric prydz live!

yeah a bit of room on a mixer is good but in the real world most setups dont allow such real estate, dodgy small booths, crappy tables/benches etc

More bells and whistles and 98% of people will ever use
Pete Gordon - Deep and Low

Slower tempo but still with balls, deephouse, slow-mo, futurehouse, nudeep, indie, nudisco, hints of progressive, whatever the fuck you want to call it, just good shit! Get on it

chill dude, i aint talking about the mixer lay out, i'm talking bout the back and the layout of the outputs

lets compare here

909 outputs-

like if you walked up to that, and had never seen it before, would take some time to work out what is supposed to go where

rane 56-

here's another 2 channel scratch mixer, all the same but its a lot more simple to work out isnt it?

xone 92-

and even here, in a 6 channel there is a lot more going on there, but it looks a whole load more simple than the 909

there you go that's all i'm saying,

I agree, the 909 rear panel layout is awful, sure, it's all labeled and you'll figure it out, but layout is still awful

i dunno, the more i look at it the more it makes sense

the cd/tt inputs are in line with the channel eq's on the front

the master outs are centre

the effect send/returns are in line with the effects panel on the front

it's actually really quite good imo

true true,
i can see why they did it, and it really does work,

BUT really, when you have a limited time to be set up i would prefer spend time plugging stuff in, then spending twice the time reading and making sure of where everything goes

Nice points...better than the Xone 62 layout really...can't find an image, but nothing lines up with squat as far as the channels go

Haha, big thanks to the club management for the heads up right..?
How did you find the 909? I've really been keen to give one of those things ago - look pretty sweet, and actually kinda original/different (strange concept for a Pioneer.. )

Solidly built mixer (like a tank), was good and faily well laid out...

Would be perfect for home, even better with an innofader

It is built like a tank, the thing weighs 6.5 kgs only 1.5 less than an 800. The weight adjust on the crossfader should be standard on any professional DJ mixer. It must have been light years ahead of it's time when it came out plus it has 2 effects processors with 50 available effects in each.

Btw, have they added more control over their filter on the 2000?
