also as the any effects being shit effects.

what about the frequency mixing on this?
what about filters used to mix in and uot of tracks instead of eq's.

you're discluding alot here

I just dont see those things as necessary...are these tiny little additions going to make anyone better at chucking two tracks together? All the effects and additions in the world wont make someone better...

Yes I am talking about at home, as you are when you said you were going to buy one, for home use.

it's not about making someone better, although one could argue that doing fx mixes are a cheap way of hiding your shitness, thus improving in a cheap kinda way.

it's about adding stuff to the end result for all the people listening! for example you can make a build up in a track that doesn't have buildups, and thus make things more exciting for the audience.

I thought you could do that using two tracks playing in time with each other

Otherwise, what is the second turntable for?

No I dont use a shit mixer.

Fair enough you use loads of effects, each to their own, I just really dont like them, I think its messing with the original intention of the track, and detracts from the music. Sure a bit of filter here and there while mixing to hide a bad mix is fine, but flange over falnge with a side of reverb just pisses me off.

nah man, sure ive got djm800, but i was going to trade it for a korg zero 8, or a xone 4d.
was even looking at evo 5.

i think this is overpriced, same as the xone 4d.

and man, hardly insta dj, alot of this shit to use properly would take tonnes of practice

Good DJs use effects in a way that are subtle.
They drop a tune u never heard before, u wont know if he is effecting it... unless they r using a flanger or something lol

Effect r used best when unnoticed IMO

well said, someone who is good with effects, without watching, you should think its part of the song as it should sound like its meant to be part of it.

so it looks like you are doing something to the music

they should make the dials really stiff, then your muscles would flex and it would look more authentic

yeah effects are also great to add to tracks which would otherwise seem flat.

when i purchase tracks i also take into account tracks that although dont sound that good by themselves, would sound good if i applied it layered, looped, or effected in certain ways.

you end up playing alot of music people would otherwise think is flat and boring and making it really interesting and dance worthy.

yes, i did just use the term "dance worthy"

Its the fine details in music/sets that make the difference.
People will notice that the set sounds good, but cant quite put their finger on reason why.

An echo, filter, or whatever should not stand out that much to picked by punters on the dance floor

hey on the note of mixing frequencies -- i don't see the difference between having that as a "special feature" and using the eq knobs in exactly the same way. have one eq knob cut and slowly bring it in while cutting it on the other channel. same thing innit?

Is there any way I can use these 44423827 filters so cut just the vocal? Got some mad mash ups I wanna try and think this machine might do the trick.

yeah I have this track where every bit of it is shit except the hi hat, which is unlike any hi hat around/ever.

I want to mix it with a track with an ok bassline which I will then echo to wobble it out, amplify it a bit more but I also want to cut out everything else because the rest of the track is crap. Then I want to blend in some synth stabs from a track which only has good stabs, the rest of the track sucks.

Will this do that for me?

I don't mind people using effects, but I just can NOT stand overuse! A track was produced to sound a certain way, and I honestly feel that it should be played that way. Subtle effects can add to an experience, but going overboard sounds nothing short of annoying...

High hat track = low and mid on zero, boost high to about 1 o clock, have channel fader at the top,

Track with the B line u want = bass boosted slightly at 1 o clock, mid at 9 o clock, high at zero, fader not quite at top

Synth stab track= mid at 10 o clock, high at 1o o clock , fader at top

I dunno, i only have EQ's on my mixer, i guess thats a rough guess ? ?

^ Pffft, that's for the plebs...

On the 2000 you just hit "mix" and "remix" at the same time, with all the filters on full and all channel faders up, then all you need to do is spirit fingers over the touchpad and the DJM does it all for you while applying flange for every buildup

went to store dj and dj warehouse on the weekend to pick up my new HDJ2000 headphones <3
was asking them the realease date of this as both have nearly 2 month waiting lists on the traktor kontrol x1's so was thinking if i should just wait it out.

store dj had no idea on release date, dj warehouse seemed pretty confident in telling me its out in may.

faaaark yes. def getting one, will prob put myself on preorder as i imagine they'll sell quick
