Been testing out some new tunes for a big gig I'm doing at the Prince Bandroom with Art vs Science and Infusion, so thought I'd put up a new promo. Very happy with the result!

It's a bit of a mixture of some old classic tunes, and some quality new tunes that are floating my boat at the moment.

I've really tried to pace it out starting with some classic sexy house, and moving through through to some proper big room melodic prog and techno.

Have been listening to music by artist in alphabetical order - all 2240 odd "tracks"(including the couple of hundred live sets I've got in my library) and you're in my i-pod as Slatts and not Andrew Slattery, so it might take me some time to get there.

I'm 500 odd tracks in and I'm up to the letter E

I'm playing at Prince tomorrow night with Infusion and Art vs Science if you want to come down and check it out!

Firstly, congratulations on the Oktoberfest mix, I really enjoyed that one. We constructed and thought out. It was a little down tempo, but I don't mind that, especially when I'm at work and it helped past the time nicely. I'll definately be giving that a re-listen.

I am just re-listening to the November mix now, to see if my first impression of the mix was correct.

On my first listen it sounded confused and at times you lost me completely as the sequencing was really out and then some of the mixing was just awful.

Firstly what was good (and it was very good) was from the start to Dark and Long. The sequencing and mixing here was very good. First class in fact (I am up to Dark and Long again now). But on the first listen the exit from Dark and Long was a complete mess. The "memory man" vocal just doesn't sound right over Dark and Long and the two tracks just don't fuse well at all. It was clumsy. Then the way that vocal messes with See the World just doesnt work.

I will post more thoughts later

After that the mix wanders back into house and it seems like it doesn't really know where it wants to be.

Then at a point just after the hour mark you find yourself again and the mix continues in fine form. There is a mix just after the hour (a few minutes past) that is just delightful and you've got your sequencing spot on.

Then at 1.25 you get into trouble again. The messy, fart riddled track you included just sits there like a corpse at a Wedding spoiling everyones day.

Then things come good and then the lead in to Heaven Scent just gets all confused again. Maybe it's the re-mix of that track you used, but it sounds like you're mixing something over the pretty part of Heaven Scent and it totally spoils things.

At this point I've lost interest and even PQM cant save the day.

Sorry mate, but not your best effort in my opinion. Oktoberfest was vastly superior

PS. Listening to the August mix now and this fucking rocks.

Happy to give feedback where I can mate.

One thing with my critiques is that I try and be as fair and as honest as I can be. With me, you have to realise that I am 100% a listener of music. I can't mix and if I had to do a set of my own I'd undoubtedly make a complete arse of myself.

I really appreciate you making the sets and making them available to us. I do enjoy them. I was listening to that one from May again the other day and I really do enjoy that mix!

So after seeing Steve Angello smash Future to pieces in his closing set in Melbourne, I got inspired and put together a Swedish house mix.
It's a collection of old and new from guys like Angello, Ingrosso, Axwell, AN21, and I even chucked in some of Dirty South's new stuff, because he's become an adapted Swede! It's rather different to the deeper progressive stuff I've been playing of late, but I've always loved the Swedes and had a lot of fun putting it together. I've mixed everything in key, and tried to structure the mix as best as I could.
