final episode was awesome - "pop what? WHAT IS HE TRYING TO SAY?", the Platoon bit with everyone dying, and all of Leonard's and Garret's parts, "Denny's is for winners", etc

group meeting bit wasn't funny but was still kinda entertaining as it built the narrative or someshit, i dunno

The writers certainly did make Pierce an unlikable sack of shit this year, but I think I'd miss his presence in the group. Like as shit as Ma-Ti was on Captain Planet, the Planeteers wouldn't be the same without him.

Season 2 really isn't up to scratch, there's a much heavier reliance on Pierce/Abed and Jeff gets much less time in the sun.

D&D episode was awesome.

But at the end of the day, it's tough to keep the thing going when you're stuck with a small number of characters and a static location.

It's very hard to keep a series going when you're making 25 episodes a season and you're not making a soap. Basically it's a collection of extroverted, fairly one-dimensional characters held together with a lot of cultural references.

The only long-running comedy series that didn't act as a soap is, to my mind, Seinfeld. But that used dozens of extra characters (usually in the form of main character's love interests) and situations.

Community just has the college.

I love it though, it was a great find.

But not sure I want a 3rd season.
