Whilst i dont love the colour scheme, and agree re sigs + posts NEED to be seperated, and that randoms shouldnt be able to add you and finally that location and post count should go under the av instead of under the post, i dont think its shit.
And im sure these guys put a lot of time, money and effort into the forum change,i dont think it was done flippantly.
maybe being constructive and trying to help them change it so that its more user friendly instead of just bitching about how shit you think it is, would be a better idea.

I don't think anyone realises how much energy is invested in something like this, which we get for free. All they can say is bbbaawwww colour scheme You'll get used to it fools, just like you did after you baawwed about the last major makeover.

Some of the "privacy" concerns are valid, although I think privacy is a bit of a strong word. So you hearted a few gurners, ohnoz. Having said that, disabling profiles needs to be an option.

Dear god I just looked at the front page for the first time, it looks like "my first web page". You know, the first time you make a website and you put FUCKING EVERYTHING on the front page.

What a mess, my retina shut down in protest.

I've found that if you don't focus on anything then it makes a pretty pattern, but I can't navigate it for shit. Awful awful awful. Did you consult anyone about this? Please don't say you paid someone to essentially change the front page (which I would think is key to any website) to a colourful montage that hurts the eyes and is harder to navigate than the Artic in winter without a torch.

Pros
The new what's on is excellent
The integration with qjump for tickets seems much more seamless
Front page looks much more current - (I know I'm not the front page target market)
The new logo is growing on me.

Cons
Channel-v-wooo-I-love-vodka-cruisers-and-steve-aoki-totes-rockin-it RED AND WHITE BUTTONS (This may just be me getting old, but I dunno)
Fixed width forum is balls, for the rest of the site it isn't a problem, for the forum is is very lame. (if a 5 minute greasemonkey hack can fix most of the issues I have you are on the right track)
Images in sigs - this sucks hard, I've never liked it on any forum and I never will.

As a user, this thing I like about the redesign is that all this content that I might not have come across before is actually splashed out in front of me, when I might have otherwise missed it. Then put nice links to it. Don't fill the front page with all the colours of the rainbow. It's so awful and bleurgh. Was the designer a dog? Because that would explain the colour choice.

I thought the sig image thing was a temporary oversight (like the lack of wordfilter) but it seems to be a deliberate addition? If so, terrible idea. Nothing shits up a forum like sig images.

I browse the site a lot using my nokia and at the moment it takes forever to load up, too many graphics & the screen won't fit on the page. I liked it when it was clean & fast. I don't need to see everyone's avatars & sigs on a mobile version.

On your profile page: Contributor stats (eg published galleries) and forum stats will update mid week. It's a massive query so we don't run it all the time

Really appreciate the posts with pros, cons and constructive feedback because once we've finished bug fixing (Drey tells me this should be the next couple of days) we'll then look at what else we can do to address your concerns

Is anyone else having trouble when they've been invited to an event by a friend? When you view the event there should be a popup so you can indicate whether you're going or not. It's not working for me so I logged it.

Yep, I can now see the black sidebars everyone was bitching about on my net book as oposed to my PC screen.

Only issue I have is now that the layout is centered, images that are bigger than the width .alt1 post-col2 post-message-area tend to get cut off.. I'm sure that's something you guys will fix one way or another

also, any large image or long text will stretch the page wider then the border and you miss half of it.

(please see amusing images thread for example. people sigs set to the right you cant even read.

My main concern is the colour of thread links when you visit each forum. Sure we might be able to read it okay, but ITM users are quite varied, and there are a number of colourblind or legally blind users that post in the forums and I'd imagine they would have a really hard time reading each link. The bright red against a light grey is difficult to read at the best of time - but also as a rule of thumb you don't use red for reading text. Now I know these are just links and not reading text, but because the way forums work, these are links that people will read successively.

I've already modified these as dark grey and it's much easier (plus I still use the bright red as a hover style, which IMO is how it should have been done to begin with)

Sorry but it's just not as easy to read. Kind of a bit over the top IMO

I like it to be honest. Colours might be a tad too contrasting but it looks much more customised. The last forum was just another forum. This one has more of a strong brand.

I like the fact it doesn't expand to fill the page horizontally. And I guess it was done to allow for the side panel ad units all the news sites are running.

im serious when i say this man but this new mix look has actually given me a real life headache. it is the conflict colour and the fuzzy hand in the air background

Dude, I haven't worked at ITM for six months (beyond being a contributor), and had nothing to do with the site revision. I'm just a user of the site, so I logged on with fresh eyes yesterday to take a look.

Something I do know though is that I've seen the site go through multiple revisions since I started using it in 2000, and it's the same story everytime - at first me and everybody else hates it, because it's different and you're used to the old version. But you get used to it pretty quickly, and the update was long overdue in this case - I'm looking at a site now that's very heavily featured, and it all ties in together with a lot of stablility. I love it, am pretty sure everyone else will in time.
