The John Graham aka Quivver aka Space Manoeuvres Thread
Also aka Skanna aka Stoneproof aka Tilt.

This guy is pretty damn good. There has been a couple of threads here in the Prog forum for mixes of his as of late.. so I've decided to make a single thread for everything Quivver related.

Just for reference, here's the thread about his April 2010 mix which attracted some good attention, and then the thread about his July 2010 mix.

I would like to point out this post by Kane recently about interest in booking Quivver to come to Australia. Just didn't seem enough interest from the subsequent emails he asked from us which surprised me a hell of a lot, as I know a lot of you in here like his sound. If you haven't already sent through an email to Kane then send one now!

Anyways onto the tunes..

Space Manoeuvres - Stage One
Media Player

One of the stand out tunes for me on disc 1 of Sasha & Digweed's Northern Exposure Expeditions. The version I have put up with that video may be a little different to what's used on NE though. Nice description of it on the video - Haunting and hypnotic, not for those looking for upbeat anthem tracks

I quite like the Quivver album, Dirty Nails And Vapour Trails. One of the stand out tunes being -

Quivver - Surin
Media Player

I know that one or some of you have put that tune in the 'most beautiful prog song ever' thread.

Here's one that I first heard when watching a video of Hernan playing in Argentina -

Quivver - Boom Boom
Media Player

Then in April this year got to hear it out from Hernan on a big system here in Sydney.

Just gonna mention this FM Radio Gods track off his April 2010 mix, this is the sound I like to hear Quivver playing -

FM Radio Gods - 333
Media Player

Then off that same mix, I dislike hearing this sound from him. I haven't listened to the July 2010 mix yet but these days he may be changing his sound a bit, for the worse. Hope not though.

Anyways put up some more John Graham productions. I'm keen to hear some more of his older stuff that I've read so much about from people on these forums. Seems that's when he was at his best as well.

edit: Adding this to the opening post -

http://www.ivibes.nu/index.php?show=Artist&id=2

All his aliases and production discography. Really comprehensive. The guy has done a lot.

You don't need any of that other shit. Na, I'm not going for none of those reasons... I'm just going for the music.

The guy has produced some definitive momentous tunes in the past!
If that July mix(perhaps a little even the April mix) is a sign of things to come, my interest in his new stuff is wearing very very thin, that doesn't mean I won't love his old work to bits though.

John Graham (Quivver) - Live @ Slava, Moscow (Feb-23-2003)

Such a sick mix!

Then again, if he keeps producing tunes like "In Your boat" then fuck, I'm all ears!
Dunno why those other two are getting better recognition then this beauty(possibly Diggers' doing I guess).

Nice will get a hold of that set..and listening to the youtoobs now.

and yeah In Your Boat is a very cool track.. Digweed has been giving that one a lot of promotion as well actually. Plays it in his April podcast, also put it on Structures, and has been playing it out (quick search found he played it on a cruise at WMC).

Latest release from Quivver -

Anthony Pappa & Quivver - Sofastar DJ's (Original Mix)
Style: Progressive House, Tech House | Released: 26 July 2010 | Label: Silence Through Music
Media Player

I knew I'd heard that track somewhere before, Nick Warren opens with it in this mix 'Nick Warren - 2010-05-02 Mercuryserver.com 8th birthday'. I like it, some nice moments through the track.
Was released with a remix of it as well.

I also like this track which is more in the Drum&Bass style -

Quivver - Chasin A Feeling (Original Mix)
Media Player

Sasha plays a '(v_rtek edit)' of that tune as his second last track in his recent Glastonbury 2010-06-25 set. Might grab hold of the set to check it out.

Just noticed this new one from a recent Nick Warren mix, still unreleased I believe -

Rabbit in the Moon - I'm Your Drug (Quivver Miami mix)
Media Player

Good shit that one!

Noticed this comment about that I'm Your Drug remix -

Bit meh of a track. Can hear the same little sample as what's used in In Your Boat.

No worries

Awesome tune from Quivver used by Sasha in this set from 2003 -

Quivver - Daylight (Main Mix)
Can stream the entire song here - http://mp3shopcart.com/Album/2016575.../download-mp3/

Hadn't heard this one before, nice vocal (is that John Graham's himself singing?) -

Quivver & Blackwatch - Loveless
Media Player

Really liking that track actually! Searched a bit on it and it seems it was pretty big during the 1996-2001 prog/trance era. Plays from Paul Oakenfold I noticed.

Monaque - Dos3000 (Quivver Remix)
Released by: microCastle. Release/catalogue number: MCSL017. Release date: Jul 20, 2010

Pretty meh that one for me.

Here's a pretty good one -

Quivver - Sludge (Final Mix)
Media Player

John Graham aka Quivver's very first release for 2010 is also one of his finest works in quite some time."Sludge" is a track that aptly describes itself,as its dark, murky sounds make sure you are kept on your toes till the very last kick..Nasty beats, heavy bass riffs and feather light effects combined in typically stunning fashion by one of the last remaining true Progressive House masters around the world.
Also featured in Dave Seaman's Renaissance The Masters Series Part 14,released back in 2009,as a slightly different version.
This is the Final, remastered version

Dune - Boomerang (Quivver Remix) -
http://www.audiojelly.com/?a=track.cfm?id=10327

^That's good.

Here's a choon -

Stoneproof - Everythings Not You [Quivvers Space Remix]
Media Player

one of the most underrated track done by John Graham.Fooking CLASSIC!!!

This is one of my all time favorite progressive songs. Gives me flashbacks of Twilo when Sasha would start to bring it up notch.

Fukin CLASSIC!!!!! EVERYTIME I hear it its as fresh as the first time. The key change @ 04.20 melts me.Bass line, melody, vocals - a complete masterpiece that will last the test of time. ))))))))))))))))))))) cheers mate

This is from: Sasha. Global Underground San Francisco. CD1 Track 8.

Hmm another awesome one -

Quivver - She Does (Quivver Mix)
Media Player

Year 1999. Sasha on the Radio 1 Dance Party. The first time i was blown away and in 2000 I disappeared into trancey-proggy vibes and this was one of the defining moments. Good feckin times!!!!!!!!!!!!

at creamfields 99 i actually left the planet when oakey belted this one out. pure class

believe it or not, i know a place that still plays this track to full dancefloor and goes off like the tracks still fresh.....i produce the modern shit for a livin now....nothing, and i mena nothing touches this era....and this a diamond gem!

Kind of funny because i've found each person prefers one of the three over the others, I cant believe Yeah Yeah did the best though, I thought that was the most boring. I do prefer Boom Boom to In Your Boat though

I fucking love John Graham!! He is the absolute business. A friend gave me a copy of that Slava set a couple of years ago, maybe 2005, and I played it for about 8 weeks straight. In the car, at home, wherever. Some massive tunes in that. I could never find a tracklisting though, anyone got one?

She Does is probably in my Top 5 tracks of all time. It just never gets old. 'But she dooesssssssss' oh man I get goosebumps. Loveless is a total chugfest, I love it. The bassline reminds me of a train. Everything he does is great blah blah blah...

Quivver fangirl will shutup now

I just loaded the original version of "Everything's Not You" for your listening. If you check out some of the other tracks on my soundcloud, I also have on my soundcloud some songs you may not know he was a part of with Planet Funk and Hybrid that he co-wrote, co-produced, wrote all lyrics and sings on. Also, I might be a little prejudice, but his sets live are totally different and much more high energy...a lot more like the april mix

Let him know that we Aussies want to hear the classic Quivver stuff! The awesome, raw, prog-trance type tunes he has produced!

He's done a bootleg of Gwen Guthrie's 'Ain't nothin goin on but the rent'

Played it at Glastonbury and it tore the place apart. Don't think it's getting a release though.

Added bonus of being a producer right there. Must be great having the ability to drop a bomb that no one else has. Bastard.
Nick is off to London.

Guys, The JVM collection post seemed to spark the interest of many users who love the sounds of the earlier 2000's. Back during these years Quivver was 1 of my favorite Dj's spinning that progressive tribal house that many of us seem to love. With that in mind I decided to start this Collection Archive. Hope you guys enjoy, I'll start by posting these sets listed below:

01. John Graham (Quivver) - Live @ Club Space - Miami (13-Dec-2002)

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=J77IRWXP (part 1)

11. John Graham (Quivver) - Transitions Guest Mix (March 2009) full version without jingles

Just go through this 5 page thread for more sets and tracklists - http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/...ection-Archive

Recommendation from ms for the must have set of the above is the 'Live @ Club Space - Miami (13-Dec-2002)', described as Quivver at his best - dark prog tribal house sound.

I don't go to be in the VIP area and drink fancy champagne. I don't need big breaks and a big song with a buildup and lights and smoke.. all you need is a kickdrum and a good bassline. You don't need any of that other shit. Na, I'm not going for none of those reasons... I'm just going for the music.

As requested from the fans for Sydney leg - Please play / base your set on some of your classics/tunes you used to play in the late 90s and early 2000 and please don't play tech house as Sydney has enough of that these days.
