Good afternoon all!

I'm very pleased to advise that we returned to the world of Internet radio on Sunday afternoon - back for the first time, in some three and half years, on NSB Radio.

It was a slightly shortened show, due to some untimely connection issues. As soon as those were resolved though, it was all go-go from there!

As you can imagine, the majority of the show is straight-up breaks, and we certainly hope you enjoy the offering!
For now, we will be broadcasting on a fortnightly basis, every second Sunday afternoon. In the meantime, though, you can also download our very first Podcast episode, featuring Tony Why, The M Shift Podcast 001 (which seems to be getting some serious hittage in Asia, as we've found). Download here!

Our next live show will be on Sunday, 12 September, when Ryza welcomes back Douggie D*Funk to Studio 621, for a solid Sunday aftenoon of tunes. If his last appearance is anything to go by, it should be a cracker! (Just add beer! )

We were very pleased to welcome back Douggie D*Funk on The Shift last weekend.

It was an extremely pleasant Sunday afternoon, and the tunes championed by both Ryza and Douggie were highly appropriate for the occasion.

As you'd expect (and can see from the below track listing), Douggie brought a lot of his own productions, remixes and edits. It's a very nice taste of what he's playing, producing and enjoying at the moment!

Having moved the show to Sunday, I foresee that there will be plenty of nice Summer Sunday afternoons ahead!

A fair bit coming up in the coming weeks and months for us, too:

For starters, Ryza will be supporting Skool Of Thought at the Chinese Laundry this coming Friday, the 24th.

We will also be dropping another Podcast episode this week, and this time, it's on the drum 'n' bass tip! (Grab the previous Podcast effort here: http://bit.ly/9AJuKf )

On top of all this, we'll be hosting a live show from Duke's Cafe in Randwick, probably in early November. The food is great and the coffee is stunning! We'll post the dates up, as soon as we've finalised it all. Would love to see you around for this!

Another fortnight, another archive!

As it turns out, numbering episodes seems to be all the craze these days, and, as we're about to blow out five candles in the coming months, we thought we'd start doing to same thing.

So, after counting our old archives, and episode topics on our Facebook page. we came to ripe old number of 205. Admittedly, we probably missed a couple, due to missed recordings (or occurrences we'd rather forget), but it's close enough we think!

We were expecting the arrival of Andrew Wowk, and a swag of drum 'n' bass however; due to a last minute spot of food poisoning, he couldn't make it. JPL accepted the last-minute invitation with open arms, following a pretty hefty weekend of club gigs, and filled an hour of the show with a selection fo electro house that dominated his weekend outings.

Constrastingly, I played a set of drum 'n' bass.

If you are enjoying the offerings of drum 'n' bass (and I know we certainly are), I will make available our Podcast 002 - which is another dose of yours truly, Bruno, and JPL.

I'll give you a couple of days to lap this one up, then I will unleash!

This coming Sunday will be JPL's last show for a few months, and we'll be moving back to the breakbeat side of things! Make sure you tune in!

So, it's hump day, things are warming up nicely on this side of the pond (particularly today), and here is another M Shift archive for you to enjoy!

It was, unfortunately, JPL's final show with us for a period of around six months. Whilst we've been instructed to stay very tight-lipped (due to legal reasons), I can advise that Mr. JPL will be taking place in a reality TV gameshow.

As a result, we decided to play a show of progressive breaks to send him off. It's absolutely no secret that JPL is far from what anyone could consider a "breaks man". Luckily, the uplifting nature of the prog. breaks showcased a similarity to the trancey sounds, for which Mr. JPL calls his musical home!

Again, no Ryza this time however; he will return on the next show, in just under two weeks time.

Back again, back in The Randy Room, with episode number 207.

Was pleased to see Ryza back in action, who also brought along Def Tonez, his "Broken Stylus" partner in crime.

It's quite an enjoyable listen, featuring booty and electro breaks, with a decent serving of dubstep, at the conclusion. As usual, Mr. Def Tonez was very busy on the accapella-dropping front!

We're getting set for our 5th Birthday show, on 21 November. Duke's Lounge, in Randwick (Sydney), have been kind enough to offer their space for the duration of the afternoon.

Well, this long-awaited birthday archive is finally available, for download, and your listening pleasure.

We were honestly overwhelmed by the response and the reception received on the day. A big thank you for your support.

All of our guests played great sets, which you can now listen to, using the relevant download link.

A big thank you also to Duke and Monique from Duke's Lounge, who gave up their space for the afternoon, and provided a great range of food, coffee and service for all. I have no doubt that this will be the start of some very good things in this new-found relationship.

Ryza and I also played for two hours, and included a selection of deep, tech. and progressive house, with funky breaks, for good measure. We will make this available in a separate episode on our Podcast - hitting your iPod very, very soon!

Here's to another year on the airwaves!

We're back again with another episode, this the 209th (or thereabouts).

Continuing in the vein of our recent birthday show, last Sunday featured more drum 'n' bass, this time delivered by M Shift resident, Mysterees and his brother, Evan Rees.

I was given the afternoon off however; since receiving the download, it's been a heavily feature in my midweek iPod rotation!

Hope all is well, and that you're preparing for some well-earned time off, at the conclusion of another working year. (Or for the lucky ones, perhaps you're already on holidays?!)

Below, you will find our final show archive for 2010, episode number 210, as it were.

Fittingly, it features mixes brought to you by myself and Ryza - containing everything from deep, tech house, and the obligatory breakbeat. We trust you'll enjoy this offering.

Welcome to 2011, all.

Hopefully your Christmas and New Years celebrations were enjoyable, and safe!

Our first show for 2011 is now available to download. Following various events on New Years Day, we were in the mood for more drum 'n' bass!

Ryza plays for the opening hour, and includes some darker, deeper sounds. Yours truly closed up shop with your more dancefloor-oriented, Hospital Records-esque sounds. All in all, is proved to be an enjoyable show - and we hope you enjoy all the same!

Coming up in January, Ryza and Def Tonez (together as "Broken Stylus"), will be supporting The Freestylers at Chinese Laundry on Friday, 14 January. This is a massive booking for them, and I have no doubt that they'll bring the house down, or at least provide appropriate sets to allow the Freestylers to bring the house down. In any case, it will be a very good show!

For me, I'm still playing most Fridays at The Settlement Bar, and will be playing in The Boiler Room, at Sydney's Big Day Out, supporting Booka Shade, LCD Soundsystem, M.I.A., Kid Kenobi & MC Shureshock, Bass Kleph, Mark Murphy and many more!

Suffice to say, it's looking to be a big January!

Well, I'm pleased to announce that episode 212 is now available to download - at long last! (Would have been a lot earlier, if it wasn't for a few FTP issues, but it appears to be at thing of the past.)

We were very pleased to welcome back Ryzi to the The M Shift and NSB Radio airwaves. You won't hear a great deal of breakbeat in this show (to be fair, you'll struggle to hear any) however; we're certain that this show will make for some very effective afternoon listening - and it certainly proved to be the case last Sunday!

Ryzi and I played for an hour each, playing a lot from our recent deep, tech. house and techno purchases! Ryzi even slipped in a "VIP Mix" (as I called it), of his recently released remix on System Recordings.

On the gig front, we recently launched a new pre-club bi-monthly Friday night event, called 'SPOiLT' - which is at The Settlement Bar, in Sydney's CBD. We welcomed some decent numbers through the door, and have a range of potential guests in the pipeline. If you dig some solid deep and tech. house grooves for your Friday evening, this is your place!

This coming Thursday, I'll also be playing in The Boiler Room, at Sydney's Big Day Out, supporting Booka Shade, LCD Soundsystem, M.I.A., Kid Kenobi & MC Shureshock, Bass Kleph, Mark Murphy and many more!

Did you catch the most recent show, with Ryzi...? He's on at Settlement this week, if you want to come along!

With another fortnight, comes another archive!

We were all too pleased to welcome back breaks DJ of yesteryear, and Sydney scene furniture piece, Andrew Wowk back to The M Shift fold.

The last time Andrew played for us, he presented a tasty mix of the finest percussive, drum-driven drum 'n' bass. This time, however, was a little different. Andrew played a style which he labelled "melodic techno". Curious, I'm sure you are, as we were - download the archive and see for yourself!

On the gig-front, I played at Sydney's Big Day Out last week, in Boiler Room. I can comfortably say, it was one of the best experiences of my life and I should be back to do it all again next year. On that note, the set that I played in this very archive quite closely reflects the set that I played on the day.

I've also kicked off a "pre-club" event, two Fridays a month, called 'SPOiLT', run at The Settlement Bar, in Sydney's CBD. We've just launched our website, which can be visited at www.soundofspoilt.com. I've also slipped in the SPOiLT schedule, below. Andrew Wowk is the next scheduled guest, on 11 February.

Ryza and Def Tonez (as their Broken Stylus guise) will also be supporting Slyde at The Chinese Laundry on Friday, 11 March. That should be a cracker too!

So! As our co-host JPL (also known as Leigh) continues to slave away, and shed the kilos on The Biggest Loser, we brought another solid show to the NSB Radio airwaves.

On this occasion, we welcomed back Sydney dubstep duo, Blog Wars, who, it's fair to say, have been making some serious waves in the Sydney scene, and have definitely taken full advantage of the popularity that dubstep has found itself!

Their set was definitely not for the faint-hearted - not by a long shot! It was a combination of tough kicks and heavy, dark, wobbly basslines! I can only assume that it you like your dubstep, you will definitely approve of this. (Ryza and I also chipped in with sets of drum 'n' bass and breaks, respectively.)

On the gig-front, I've kicked off a "pre-club" event, two Fridays a month, called 'SPOiLT', run at The Settlement Bar, in Sydney's CBD. We've just launched our website, which can be visited at www.soundofspoilt.com. I've also slipped in the SPOiLT schedule, below.

As per my regular fortnight address, I'm more than happy to report that another show is now available!

We were very impressed with another session from The Audiophilez. Always good to have Sammy and Evan around for a few tunes and the obligatory banter! Apologies for the lack of show last week. I was feeling rather under the weather, and pulled the plug at the last minute. I couldn't really go on, to be fair.

Afternoon all!

Well, it has been quite some time indeed since our last archive posting, so our sincerest apologies for that. We've had a few obstacles thrown in our way recently, such as unprecedented illness, and an unfortunate episode where the daylight savings changes weren't accounted for. (Don't worry though, the latter will be turned into a Podcast episode.)

Rest assured, we're back on track with another guest appearance from Tony Why alongside Elwood (who we haven't seen for quite some time indeed!)

Shacking up on a Sunday afternoon in Ryza's new pad, the boys brought the breaks, in their numbers - and how - to bring forth quite an enjoyable listen, and download! Hope you enjoy!

This coming Sunday will be Easter Sunday, so I'm going to park myself quietly in front of the MacBook, and will play a selection of mixes from yours truly, AfroWhitie, Andy Wright and Ryza, which should provide a nice side-dish to your respected chocolate offerings. So! To kick start a bit of an archive catch-up, below is our special Easter Sunday Pre-Record Sessions effort, from a couple of Sundays ago.

Given the occasion, we decided to pick up a selection of short mixes from a few very talented individuals, in AfroWhitie and Andy Wright (from SPOiLT).

You'll find that the show flows quite nicely, covering deep and tech house, with a mix of "slower garagey stuff", and the obligatory selection of breaks.

I actually really enjoyed sitting back in the studio on a Sunday afternoon, and sending this out. Hope you enjoy it as much!

Well, I find myself writing this address whilst sitting on the plane on its way back from Seoul, in the early hours of a Thursday morning.

Firstly, my sincerest apologies for the delay with this archive, it was surprisingly hard to get my MacBook online during the two-week stay in South Korea. (Hard to believe, I know!)

Whatever the case, though, I'm absolutely positive that this archive is well worth the wait. It was an extended four-hour show, which was meant to mark the return of M Shift resident-host, JPL (a.k.a. Leigh Westren), from The Biggest Loser house.

For various reasons, JPL wasn't able to make it on the day however; we continued with the live broadcast from Duke's Lounge in Randwick, in any case.

The four-hour broadcast - which I've split into two downloads - features live mixes from AfroWhitie, Def Tonez, Ryza and yours truly. It's a real journey of sounds, and we hope you enjoy the ride as much as we did!

Another big thanks must go out to Duke, Mon and the Duke's Lounge crew - for giving up the cafe space, and providing the food and drink for a hungry and thirty bunch of M Shifters for the afternoon! You absolutely rock! (And you can find the Duke's Lounge blog at dukeslounge.com.au.

As, by the time you're reading this, I will be back in Sydney, you can expect the following archive (episode 219) featuring Doug D*Funk (Upstart Music) - which is another corker of a show, very soon.

I didn't want to leave it too long before unleashing the next archive, as it's absolute corker of a show.

We've welcomed back M Shift favourite, Douggie D-Funk back to the fold, and he certainly did not disappoint.

Mr. D-Funk played a set featuring a large number of his own productions, plus a few cheeky previews of upcoming bits and pieces on the respected Upstart Music and Grits N Gravy imprints.

The 221st is on its way. For real.

Well, it's Monday - arguably the lowest point of the normal working week - so I thought we'd share the most recent show archive.

It's a nice, uplifting prog. breaks effort, hosted by Ryza and I, which should help you through the Monday blues in one piece!

Ryza took the uplifting route, dropping a fine selection of anthems from The M Shift of years gone by. I personally took an alternate route, of driving, proggy, tech. breaks. Whatever the case, whatever your taste, we hope you'll enjoy this all the same!

Good afternoon all!

Apologies for the delay in the posting of this archive in the usual blogs and forums, it's been an absolutely frantic two weeks.

This show, though, was a highly enjoyable affair. Chinese Laundry favourites, Broken Stylus - Ryza & Def Tonez in some circles - brought forth two hours of fun-filled breaks and drum 'n' bass.

The mixing was tight, and the tunes were incredibly dancefloor friendly. I've been through the archive a few times now, and have enjoyed it immensely on each occasion. Here's hoping you have a similar experience!

The schedule below is looking nice and busy, too. This coming Sunday (the 17th), we'll be welcoming back resident, Mysterees. We also have planned shows from favourites Marzetti and James Warren, as well as an M Shift debut from Andy Wright from SPOiLT.

Happy Monday, all!

Here is yet another M Shift archive for you to sink your teeth into. The episode, number 223, was scheduled to be an appearance from M Shift "resident", Mysterees however; someone that can only be described as "scum of the earth" had other ideas, when Ryza's MacBook was stolen the night before the show.

Luckily, Ryza is pretty much back up and running once again now (with a new MacBook and all). I stepped in for the regular show duties, playing a solo show, containing a number of selections, of the deep and tech. house variety, floating my boat at the moment.

I'll be the first to admit that I haven't been playing (nor buying) a lot of breaks of late, but I sincerely hope you enjoy this offering - as was the case in the chatroom - all the same.

Hope the weekend was an enjoyable one - wherever you found yourself!

Here is yet another M Shift offering to tickle your ears, early in the working week. We were very pleased to welcome back Marzetti for his second appearance, for us.

His set (for the middle hour) features a wide-range of tunes, in which he has played a part in all. You'll notice the very distinctive Marzetti sound, which has seen him release tunes on highly-respected labels around the globe!

Ryza and I fit in nicely, playing sets of house and breaks of the bassline variety. All-in-all, we enjoyed ourselves (and the 'Pigs Might Fly' brew), on a relaxing Sunday afternoon.

Admittedly, we're a little late on this archive posting however; we hope it will be worth the wait, all the same!

The show from two weeks ago featured a solo two-hour effort from Ryza - who was joined in the Tea Room by the "doctor duo".

It's a nice selection of straight-up breaks - as can be expected from Ryza - running along the spectrum right through the booty sounds, and concluding with some rough, rinsing business.

I'm very pleased to make available the most recent archive of The M Shift, for all of you.

This turned out to be a particularly enjoyable archive for myself. It's absolutely no secret that I've been heavily into drum 'n' bass in recent times, and this archive absolutely delivered the goods! (In my humble opinion.)

We welcomed back my SPOiLT partner in crime, Andy Wright, who whipped up a deliciously deep drum 'n' bass mix. I followed it up with a slightly harder bassline-driven effort, but whatever the case, it's a cracking listen that hasn't left my iPhone playlist since the show aired on Sunday!

If you like your drum 'n' bass - or even if you're not a real enthusiast, and just fancy something different, you probably need this in your life.

I dare say that this is the quickest archive submission that we've seen in some time. I suppose we couldn't wait but to unleash it!

It's a nice follow-on from the last show, in that drum 'n' bass in a very strong feature throughout. Andy Wright returned to join me back in The Randy Room yesterday afternoon, and Ryza also provided a deliciously tough 40 minute mix for the afternoon.

The entire show contains a wide range of tasteful drum 'n' bass selections - in particular from Blu Mar Ten, Bcee and Komatic.

We also cheekily called the show our "6th Birthday Warm-Up", in preparation for The M Shift Turns 6, coming up in a fortnight, on Sunday, 18 December.

Welcome to 2012, all. Yes, it's quite a late greeting - but better late than never, I suppose!

We have just made available the epic, final show of last year - our 6th Birthday show - which was hosted live from Duke's Lounge, in Randwick.

The four-hour show featured live sets from D-Funk, Def Tonez, Tony Why, Toddy Trix, Duke Von, Andy Wright and myself.

Our sincerest apologies for the delay however; we feel that the quality of this show is certainly worth the wait - and you have four hours to sink your teeth into now!

We'll have the archive of the first show of 2012 coming up shortly, too. So, watch this space.

Furthermore, we've almost finalised the show schedule for the entire first quarter of 2012, so we assure you that the quality will continue. Check the schedule below.

Afternoon, all!

It seems like our last posted show - our 6th birthday effort - is doing nicely in terms of consistent downloads. So, we thought we'd give you our most recent, just in time for you to enjoy it over your Australia Day break (if you're lucky enough!)

Our first show back for 2012 welcomed Ryza back into hosting duties, following a short break towards the end of last year, and presented a nice selection of dubstep (the good kind), breaks and drum 'n' bass. We'd suggest that this archive will provide a very pleasing sidedish to your respected beer-fuelled, Australia Day BBQ gatherings - or whatever.

This coming Sunday will be a Sydney Breaks Special - hosted by Ryza and Mr. Def Tonez. I can only imagine there will be a very healthy helping of breakbeat!

Good afternoon all,

We're (over)due for a bit of a catch-up on the archive front - primarily due to our 200GB Podcast bandwidth maxing out! (So thank you very much for your support!)

The first of two archives to hit the stream in a short space of time, is episode 236, hosted by Ryza and Def Tonez.
