This issue has probably long since been solved...but anyway...you go into the Publish settings, and select gif, and go into the gif settings tab...then you can set it up to be the right size, and animated and so on..then you hit the publish button and it will create a gif file instead of an .swf

Can the size allowed (in kb not pixels) of avatars be increased slightly?
say 30k?

it cant be any worse for modem users than getting rapped by a Flash movie apon entry

There are some sites which allow up to 80k. Imagine that size with our avatar wars. We could put movie on that.

use the img tag.. there's a button for it.

it's similar to html - you put the url in between the tags and wooshka! picture in post.

(remember it has to end in .jpg or .gif)

um i just tried and its not recognising the piccy??


basically i saved picture as to my pc.

then went to profile change avatar.
went to browes and linked to where the file was submited.

went to the forum to check it and it didnt change!!!

what me doing wrong?

After you linked the pic with the change avatar button did you press the submit modifications button?
