if only you binked that last tourney to fund your holiday

oh wells just as long as flights are out of the way you'll be going on the holiday anyway, super budget style or average joe blow style.

i was playing the $52.50 heads up sngs on stars for a few hours each day, which just got me by on rent, food, bills + going out - now they have the 60.00 hu games.

edit - but every month i would end up having to withdraw 4 weeks of rent and bits and pieces every few days so I never really got the chance to build my roll up higher which is why it only worked out for 6 months

Hawaii and New York for 3 weeks in July, haven't paid for squat aside from flights so far so need to knuckle down and save, so even the $200~ kinda games are just too much risk for me at the moment.

Doing west coast of the States as holiday after that, San Fran, LA and Vegas

What stakes were you playing when playing full time?

I went to the WSOP last year, stayed at the Rio and played in the $550 Satellite. Doubled up, made it to the long break then got knocked out when the big stack open shoved. I snap called with AJ, he flips over J8 then spikes the 8 on the flop!

Stayed in Vegas for 8 days at the Rio and Cosmo. Can't wait till I go back! Maybe September or March.

Hawaii is hell on earth. All forms of gambling are illegal, there's not even a single poker machine in whole state of Hawaii. Be sure to head to Dukes Wakiki for some drinks on the beach, best beach bar in Hawaii.

Also when in LA you have to check out the Citadel Outlets. All best brands at awesome prices. Reebok shoes $25, Polo shirts $10 and designer jeans $30.

Here's my stats for the year. Haven't had much time to play.

ITM 18/77 = 23%

ITM Finishes
1st 2
2nd 3
3rd 3
4-10th 10

MTT Avg. Finish Percentage
Early 4% (10%)
Early/Middle 9% (20%)
Middle 39% (40%)
Middle/Late 36% (20%)
Late 12% (10%)

Statistics includes scheduled PokerStars MTT poker tournaments and PokerStars SNG tournaments. (SNG min. 36 players).

Fuck yeah, that would have been perfect! Not meant to be though.

Not going too low brow, mid range restort in Hawaii, probably staying hosted accomodation through airbnb.com for New York as hotel prices there are fucking insane! In the areas we want to stay in it's $250+ a night for a scummy dated as fuck looking 2 star shit box...city is insanely pricey, even a hostel costs $90+ (plus taxes) per person per night

Shot, staying in Waikiki so will check it...not fussed on the no gambling thing, holiday with the wife, so can't exactly just duck off all the time to play poker...it takes too much time, either tournaments or cash, you have to commit a solid chunk of hours to see enough hands/avoid variance etc.

Not a single pokie machine in the state...that right there is AWESOME!

ITM 23% is pretty huge! I can't for the life of me seem to stay on the right side of variance in online MTTs, constantly losing flips and the crucial 60/40 let alone the major suckouts...fucking hate it

Not sure I'd trust Optus 3G to not time out/stutter and cause you to fold hands, happens to me playing Zynga when bored on the tram, if it was happening with real monies it would be more than a little annoying...

My iPad is only a wireless jobbie, which is probably good else I'd make excuses not to ride my bike to work in favour of catching the tram to play poker!

Not putting it on my phone!

Man, haven't cashed anything in ages, felt stoked just making the money of an 18 player $3.50 SNG!

Crushing from final 6 players, 2:1 chip lead...bubble finally pops and one small stack drops to me for like 2.5:1 lead to guy coming second...he flops a set to my QQ...I button raise KQ and the small stack in BB shoves his Tens and I brick...shove last 8-10BBs with KTs right into the SBs KJ and I brick my flopped OE straight + flush draw...out in 3rd! haha

Still, better than another bubble, eh?

Yeah, a mate said those hangs I get are just Zynga related, not network...always assumed it was network as never got hangs on wireless, but did playing through 3G

Friend played 4 hours yesterday without any hangs/freezes/drops, so looks pretty stable

YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYA!!! 4th out of 507 in a $3.30 buy in 4 handed game...$76.05

The $289 for first would have been tastier, but got to final 5 as monster short stack, 10BBs vs biggest stacks 120+BBs, was lucky to even get the 4th spot really!

Pretty cold exit, pockets Tens into big stacks pocket Kings...4 handed...chillingly brutal! haha

Melbourne Poker Championship winner Jackie Glazier ($90K win) finished 2nd in the $3K NLHE event at WSOP yesterday...took a 3:1 chip lead into Heads Up but didn't have a good run of it so missed out on the bracelet...$450K USD second prize though, none too shabby!

Was looking like being the first Aussie female to win an open event bracelet, but denied...shame really

Mike Sexton was knocked out in 9th place after he shoved with middle pair and a flush draw. Esfandiari called but the dealer mucked his cards! After they retrieved the cards from the muck he took the pot with two pair.

What??? Mucked is mucked, innit? If the dealer had access to them to be able to muck them, isn't that your own fault for not protecting your cards well enough? Rough

Esfandiari shipped it though, solid!

If they can identify the cards in the muck then the hand can be tabled. But yes it is also your resp. to protect your cards.

A couple of memorable hands
The amateur that knocked out Dwan and Negreanu with quads.
Rast getting knocked out holding the nut flush vs quads.

Classic mistake, the WSOPE main event final table went for 22 hours! I recorded an extra 4 hours to make sure i got to see it all today.

Wait till Sunday night when they show an edited version on foxtel.

Nice work...just keep to small buy in's until you build up money...I'm totally awful at bankroll management, but if playing multi table tournaments, you want to have at least 20x the buy in as your bankroll, preferably 50x buy in.

Made 25th out of 3760 the other day on Pokerstars $2.20 buy in $6K gauranteed...only scored $19...pretty brutal for so many hours play and considering 1st was $1300 odd...but that's MTTs for you, gotta make final tables to make the real money...but that's my best finish in a field that size

Watched a bit of that million dollar buy in tourney the other day. I don't think live poker works that well on TV (especially compared to the standard ESPN have set for their normal coverage). Apart from not being able to see the hole cards the main problem is the very lengthy pauses that the players use before making a decision. They would be better off trying to produce a fast turn around highlights package of the days play or something.

Interesting...the live format is sooooooooooooooo super awesome for poker players watching....because you spend 10 minutes doing what you SHOULD be doing,.... ranging your opponents... and you get to do that for every hand and see how good your read is. To me, its just like being there...being that person, being in the moment

If you get bored watching it live with hidden hole cards then your not really a player, not a profitable one anyway....i mean that hand in One Drop where Trickett double barrelled his turned bottom pair Vs Esfandiari's top pair with Ace King was mindblowing. Some of the best televised poker since Pius Heinz Vs Eoghan O'Dea in the Main Event last year. I remember watching Ben Lamb rivering trip 2's vs Gianneti in ME last year...Matt tanked for nearly 10 mins adn it soooo suspensefull as you too were guessing whether Lambs over bet on river was for value or bluff? , but in the replay he basically snap called!!!...totally different dynamic to live...you actually got to see Matt "nearly" lay down top two pair against an aggy Ben Lamb

Live Sweats are for poker players, replays with highlights are for donks

I agree, hated it last year but this year was awesome. After you get used to the fact that you won't see the cards its fine.

Love it when I call out their moves a few seconds before the action happens. Oh he'll prob re-raise to $4.2M, raise to $4.2M!!!! lol

Yeah, much prefer it, you actually get something more out of it imo, and feel the tension greater rather than just knowing he's 3 betting with Rockets etc.

Live without hole cards is sooo much better.

The EPTLive stream with expert commentary from people like shaun deeb, jason mercier et. al., when I used to have the time to watch was awesome.

Man Poker stars is driving me fucking nuts with its constant coolers/suckouts

I flop sets, lose to straight/flush draws, flop TPTK or holding overpair everytime they have a set...flop second nut flush, Queen in hand, King on the board, villian flopped Nut flush, naturally...sitting on 12K at 50/100 level in one of the micro millions games with JJ in the big blind...UTG who only has 1200 limps in, half the table limps behing him, I raise to exactly half his stack so I can re-raise if anyone else comes along after he shoves, sure enough, he shoves, one guy flats and I re-raise enough for him to go all in, he does, both have Ace Ten...safe safe safe safe 2 outter Ace on the fucking river...just can't seem to get anything to hold up, it's ridiculous!

Are you guys using a tracker? I've started using Poker Tracker 3 with Stars...

Mainly to find holes in my game, and make sure my VPIP isnt too high.
