how warm are they? do you still need to wear thermals underneath if it's sub-zero?

Really warm, I get through Hobart's winter wearing it with no issues. I had it on yesterday with a 150g/m2 merino wool thermal on underneath @ 1C and i was fine, can always layer up if you feel the cold though. Without a thermal, anything below -2 and it gets a little uncomfortable.

They are a really good cut if you are slim as Icebreaker tend to cater towards the more athletic crowd, which suits me fine as most jackets tend to billow around the mid section for me. Bonus points for the fact that it doesnt smell no matter how much you sweat in it. I realized the other day that i hadnt washed it for nearly a year, no noticeable smell whatsoever.

I can't recommend them enough, if only Oz manufacturers where as innovative as some of the NZ companies. Size wise i tend to buy a little smaller as i like the fit, mines a small and im 5'10ish @73kg if that helps with the sizing.

How long are your arms? I usually have to buy a size too big because I have abnormal arms 5'10 @ 64 kgs for me.

Maple have a sale on in Newtown with some good stuff... got a plain black one marked down from $90 to $35.

they also had carhartt rain jackets with a lining that looked pretty good quality from $400 to $129, amazing saving, amazing jacket, just can't justify buying it

@meta-I'm a catch tbh though, I'm stoked to feel my fingers during a Tas winter, sweating is a luxury I'm rarely afforded.

The Icebreaker stuff is pretty ultimate, pricey though. I'm up to 5 hoodies now, plain cotton ones in black, light tan and grey, a black sleeveless Lee one and a hooded flanno.

those IB hoodies look the fucking business. Shame we're almost out of winter now, but I wonder how much they'd cost in the US? Might get it if it's worthwhile when I'm next abroad.

They are cheaper here delivered from NZ on sale, the US tends to get last seasons stuff and seems to be pricier than the NZ gear on sale.

What can I say? I'm all about the plight of the independent contractors who were working on the incomplete second Death Star and were therefore no more than innocent victims of a war they had nothing to do with.

www.surfdome.com sometimes has good shit on sale... That black Carhartt hooded coat we discussed further up? I got that from there for the equivalent of $130 Australian dollars (yet they've now upped the price back up to like 170 quid?) and they shipped it to me for free, in less than a week.

Yeah man the carhartt store in melbourne central is ridiculously expensive. I only buy shit from there when they have sales on, otherwise its not worth it (for a student like myself anyway)
I usually go in there, try stuff on that I like, if the price is too high I buy it from Chemical Records or Asos or somewhere similar.

Also on the note of hoodies I have a black volcom hoody that is completely fur lined like that Superdry one, sofa king warm.

I'm on the lookout for a new hoodie, even considering buying a male one because of the lack of female variety

Brought a new hoodie yesterday, from Politix.

Looks mint, confortable to wear and most importantly, it's a hoodie.
