cross posting this coz i accidentally the nothing thread

after bisming again tonight and having been a bit slack with a routine lately, i've decided to try and shift some of this excess weight sooner rather than later because i'll be doing the bris to gold coast ride on the 9th of october and i want to make a real go at it and i've put some flab back on by eating like a boss (some decent muscle gain though). 3+ kg is desired, 5kg would be OMG but i don't really care that much about numbers.

so oh wise fellow brethren, what advice can you give me for diet and routine? i'll be doing 30km on tuesdays and thursdays, and 60+km on weekends. i'd like to be lifting on mon/wed/fri but obviously i'll have to change. as for what i've been doing lately, i've been pretty slack with press/bench because i'm not really that fussed on arms, so i've been focusing on squats/deadlifts because i'm going for big quads (i'm already beginning to get that silly cyclist look ). i'm open to jumping on a rowing machine.

i'm assuming i basically need enough carbs to keep me going on the bike, but i have no idea what macros i should be aiming for. currently 79kg and 183cm tall. work your magic pls

im doing that volume at the moment. will aim to get some 80km rides in on the coming saturdays (or sundays), but minimum 60. i guess i can get up earlier on tuesday/thursday and plan an even longer route to work.

After having a bad start year in terms of health issues and injury (had glandular fever at the start of the year, and did a grade 2 tear to my sterno-clavicular joint around June, I've finally managed to be able to get back into the gym and train 4 - 5 times a week.

Always been a fairly lean fella, but always had a shit diet eating way too much crap. So have started on a new diet, and training program and my hope is to gain 5kg of lean muscle.

Currently 70kg.
