I'm not new to Whedon (saw all of Buffy), but I was never really in tune with his style, or knew what to look out for and expect..

Yep, I'm no Marvel fanboy but that was good fun.

There were a few low-tier franchises running about (Bow-and-Arrow Man, Russian Karate Girl, The African Pirate etc.), but they didn't distract too much.

The Halo aliens at the end were pushovers, as has been noted, but that's the same as every single movie like this.

Anyway, good flick. Schwarma.

Enjoyable action film. But not the sort of movie I'd watch often, if ever again. Lack of depth compared to something like the Dark Knight. These are kids films on steroids, a lot to look at - but that's it really.

A deep film never rates as well as a good, fun, "doesn't take itself too seriously", action flick. A movie like this is rare these days, where you can go and have a lot of fun and feel like you've spent your cash well.

Last time I saw it was 9 on IMDB. My comment was really in response to that which I should've stated.

Dude, compare it to other non-Nolan hero flicks, nothing else comes close. I think the 9 is justified. It's a ballsy action fest that does exactly what it says on the tin.

Saw this last night. Loved every minute of it. Entertaining and engaging the whole way through. I have had no interest in Marvel my whole life, and do not know the background of over half of the characters, but still really liked seeing the combinations of superheroes fighting with and against each other. Brilliant! Did not expect all the laugh out loud moments, made for an even more enjoyable watch.

Want to go see again

Check out the lead up movies before you do see it again imo, it will make things much clearer on the history of the characters.
