Senna wasn't twitching at all. I noticed that Crofty said the same thing, but I only saw the single movement he made to defend. Schumacher was just being reckless once again.

senna's block was perfectly legitimate, it's up the the attacking driver not to hit the guy in front of him, schumi can't expect everyone to just get out of his way

fucking hilarious that he's whinging, he's a ruthless defender and if anyone ever ran up the back of him he'd probably sock them in the mouth

In this shot you can see Senna move right slightly before switching left:

You can see why Schumi thought he was going to have the outside line. Still shouldn't have rammed into him though.

Regardless of what slight movement Senna did it doesn't mean shit. Schmui had ample room to try and overtake on both sides and instead slammed right up his ass. Penalty is justified imo.

he was heading in that direction from the last corner so he was moving in a straight line. Didn't make two direction changes before the corner.

Everyone in karts used to do that to defend on the main straight at newcastle. Straight out of the last corner you head for the inside line of the first corner. Nobody could get inside you and you couldn't get penalised coz you weren't blocking. You were choosing your line and sticking to it. As soon as you moved to a different line halfway down the straight you got a warning

Yeah I'm not defending Schumi, just saying you can see why Senna's move might have surprised him a little. It's Schumi's responsibility not to hit him of course.

schumi is p18 in the driver's championship after 5 races in a competitive car. he's even being beaten by massa

it's funny to watch him get frustrated and collapse. i've waited many years for this.

there is certainly a small twitch, but at the speed schumi was upon him he'd have probably hit him anyway. actually, at the speed he was going he probably would have gone straight off the end of the track.

that small twitch is nothing. Could have been caused by braking and it was in no way impeding schumacher. He moved 2cm ffs and shitmaker had already started diving off to the right

schumi's main tactic for domination was as follows: I can't pass you on the track so I'll just wait till you pit and pass you then.

Australian Story did Sir Jack Brabham last night (I think it was a repeat). Really highlighted how little Australia cares about these kinds of sportsmen.

I admit that I got a little moist in the eyes when they were talking about Bruce McLaren, I'm so glad that we aren't losing 3 or 4 blokes a season to racing accidents anymore.

Formula 1 will introduce some form of driver head protection in the not-too-distant future, race director Charlie Whiting says.
Governing body the FIA is conducting research on methods of head protection and Whiting believes F1 must adopt one.
"There has to be something to try to prevent a wheel hitting a driver's head," Whiting told BBC Sport.
He added that roll-over protection in front of the driver "is the most likely option in my opinion".

not the first time this has been floated (the video that the image in the article is taken from surfaced last year from memory?). still torn on the idea - no one wants to see a driver seriously injured (or worse), but the idea of a roll cage or something similar on an f1 car doesn't feel right either.

ugh, do the drivers even want it? surely putting anything in front of the driver will obstruct vision. hans device + current cockpit seems fine, they're so low in the car the likelihood of a wheel hitting them is low.

Seriously what a dumb idea. If Webber can stack his car like he did at Valencia 2010, and not get injured, surely the cars are pretty safe these days.
