I love free downloads, especially when the artist makes something you'de happily pay for. The least we can do is give them the exposure they deserve... Kid606 has done a great remix of Magic Panda (check him out too he is amazing)...

My mix for Emotions on Innervisions Radio is being played tonight and it covers what I would say fits perfectly with this thread. My fav usual suspects appear e.g. Max Cooper, Ryan Davis, Microtrauma etc. I will make sure to post the link up for my Soundcloud as soon as it has aired for anyone who is interested

Here it is:

I didn't want to promote in here cos this has been a good place to share artists who fit the bill but considering this mix has tracks by a bunch of the artists that regularly get posted in here I thought I'd make an exception.

Ah Tristesse, you get better with every listen. I saw your comment on your soundcloud how much you like the track too

Awesome film clip - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S0dFcKsGW1M

And for a similar cool watch, check out this clip to JOOF's new track with the same style animation, love how the music matches the epic turn of events - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-1MzEGDRZQ

Awesome, will keep it down low. Was actually going to ask you soon as thought they might be due. Hopefully you get them again rather than other promoters out there who would show interest now that they know they pulled a solid crowd last time

Best set I've heard all year... Good god.

Let's get a tracklist going.

All I can recognize so far are PHM - Spotless Mind and his remix of Paul Hazendonk - Ninja!

yep, I think/hope I posted this, been absolutely mauling this mix, on repeat, incredible. His mixes just get better each time and always have absolutely brilliant songs I've never heard before in them.

So this is what we have thus far:

32:00- PHM- Spotless Mind
50- Paul Hazendonk - Nijna (LannyMay Remix)
55:00- Jensch- Tageslichtvergiftung ...check out the whole recent EP, it is fucking amazing

Yeah love the Jensch EP, so lush!

I am pretty sure I recall hearing All Meine Liebe in there as well...

Seriously Lanny May / Max Cooper / Ryan Davis playing on after the other in Blights Bar... MAKE IT HAPPEN. I will seriously throw in cash to get that here.

great set, except for the raping of the effects ($5 on the fact he's playing on a DJM800 and got bored)

Didn't really notice the effects.

I'm assuming he was using the bitcrusher, seems consistent with his music.

I despise overuse of effects (only ever used minimal reverb and LP/HP filters when I owned a DJM 800) so it can't be that bad.

Fair enough, effects aren't to everyone's tastes. He certainly loves the beat repeat and flanger.
Doesn't bother me that's just his style, he's always used them and for me it fits with his music. I find it interesting if anything

I can understand how it could be frustrating though, so it's certainly a fair criticism.

Thanks for this thread. I have listened to a few of the tracks, very nice. I am a progressive dj also, but, like many of you, tired of the screaming synths, overly long breakdowns followed by baselines that do not deliver! I take most of my music from other genres, but also felt a need to approach mixing in a different way. A lot of the melodic music, while beautiful, isn't always quite engaging enough for a dancefloor, but I found one can get around that with Traktor. I do not always feel the need to play the latest and greatest either, but then, I am more of a hobby dj who really plays for myself. This set includes Oliver Schories, Marek Hemmenn, Luke Chable (back in the day!), Son Kite, Dark Soul Project and even Hedflux, cos dropping a breakbeat track can work in a prog set! A love a good prog dj who can take people to a variety of places, yet keep a musical continuity in their sets. I think its why some folks bag prog. Because this kind of music takes a little more creativity, at least in my view !

I have realized tho, that this thread is more about prog inspired music, rather than progressive music as such. Still, I loved some of the tunes posted here

Glad to hear from more posters!
Yeh I suppose it is more about the evolution of progressive music and just showcasing great innovative artists or songs that you come across, a broader spectrum of music than simply following a genre etc.

Anyway, 320 free download of Lanny May's latest remix, which is awesome:

I made 9 CD mixes of tunes for an upcoming holiday in the Fijian islands. Music to listen to whilst laying in bed with your other half, or beside the pool or a white sandy beach. Tried to keep it melodic and emotional Kept plenty of variety in terms of artists, genres, downtempo/beat, vocals or not

Lanny May has released some music under his 'AnimalZOO' moniker, some of the instruments have a childlike quality about them to me, it's cool stuff check it out if you enjoy his style.
