Friday nights game has massive implications. Geelong lose and they have no chance of making top 4 or winning a 4th flag. Collingwood lose, and their game against the crows next week at footy park might decide their season.

still think its a bit early to be making those kinds of predictions, the teams currently in the top 4 are only 1 or 2 wins in front of the likes of Geelong, Collingwood, Hawthorn etc. They have all been near the top before and I think there just taking it easy till the mid way point and trying to make sure they don't peak too early.. plus once Scarlett is back and fully fit they will be hard to beat!

Varcoe and Wojo will help too. Midfield needs a bit of a boost.

I think this year is going to be a bit different than previous years with there being 18 teams. Being 'out of the eight' at this stage doesn't necessarily indicate you're out of it, because there's less of a spread in points between teams in the finals and teams out. 4 point spread from 4-10 right now. Even if the cats lose tomorrow they could be 1 win out of the eight. What's probably more important is position now respective to games remaining against bottom 6 teams.

I don't see why - only team to ever win the flag starting from outside the 4 was Adelaide.

The comp may be more even, but I don't think it will be any easier than history suggests to win a flag.

I just don't think Geelong have the hunger this year. Being 2-3 games outside the top 4 will be hard to make up in the last 2/3s of the season.

I don't think a team can win unless they finish top 4
