I can't wait to hear how hardstyle, electro, drum & bass and dubstep all go together..... My experience with sync buttons is they suck balls with break beats.... maybe it's improved a lot of late.

Haha I was specifically referring to the new people who seem to be awfully vocal but feel free to repost for the love of Sunday. I can't find where I stashed that mix.

theres actaully nothing wrong with using the sync button. I use it all the time when im focusing on the sample decks and loop functions.
it can be quite handy
all of my mixes (see sig) have a combination of sync and non sync.
learning to dj by just using sync, however, is not gonna teach you anything.

pretty sure im justified to give advice? ive been djing since before this AFRO kid was born

It's more laughing at his arrogance.

I'll throw a mix up tomorrow, tonight if I can sneak some time. I think if you trawl thru the Adelaide forum I posted one about 5 years ago, I can't be arsed searching it now and I doubt the link works anyways.

Here's mine, two in fact. Both are techno - classics from yonks ago, mostly from 1996 or older, that blew the roof off the art college, limelight, or union in Belfast.

This was done last week, using Traktor and Sync; yes, sync and proud. But you know what I don't care; I've been DJing for around 18 yrs now, and don't need to prove I can beatmatch.

Tracklisting is:
Green Velvet - Preacher Man; Layo & Bushwacka! - Deep South; Kenny Larkin - Loop 2 (Luke Slater remix); LFO vrs Fuse - Loop; LA Synthesis - Agraphobia (Kenny Larkin Mix); Trackman - Don´t Stop; Slam - Stepback; HMC - LSD; Laurent Garnier - The Force; Mark Broom - The Salsa; Jeff Mills - Java; Funk D'Void - Jack Me Off; Point Blank - Meng's Theme; Robotman - Do Da Doo (Plastikman's Acid House Remix); Vapourspace - Gravitational Arch of 10; Hardfloor - Acperience; Tata Box Inhibitors - Plasmids; Lemon8 - Model8 (Lemon8 Remix); Bam Bam - Where's your child; Jeff Mills - the bells; Sven Vath - Ballet-Fusion (Belfast-Fusion); Orbital - Belfast.

This mix was one of my last on the decks: same era, same style.
http://www.mixcrate.com/mix/7805/Red-People-Alive-in-95
Use gguest as both username and password to login and download if you want to.

Tracklisting is:
Frozen Sun – “A trip to the Future” ; Tevatron – “Tutbrain”; Alter Ego – “Soulfree (Luke Slater Remix)”; Mark the 909 King – “Into Space”; SIlicon Soul – “Chic-o-laa (H-Foundation Mix)”; S.O.L. – “Quantensprung 1”; Secret Cinema – “To The Echo” ; The 4th Wave – “Electroluv”; Green Velvet – “Bonus Track (or Fake & Phoney)” ; Mark the 909 King – “Tribally”; Random Generator – “Zone Paging”; David Holmes – “ShakeYa Brain”; Teste – “The Wipe (5am Synaptic)”; 3-Style – “X-Fade”; Precession – “Sandcastle (Mike Huckaby Remix)”; Carl Craig - “At Les”.

Enjoy them both.

Don't you get bored though?

EDIT: There's a link to my downbeat mix in my signature, starts off around 102BPM and works its way up to a housey 123BPM

Mellow and very listenable, good post party chill or Sunday morning mix

Mixed on 2 Technics 1210's, Xone 62 mixer and TORQ (no sync)

Some real basic drops over the outro's, some long full mixes

Not without the odd hiccup, but shit happens
Pete Gordon - Deep and Low

Slower tempo but still with balls, deephouse, slow-mo, futurehouse, nudeep, indie, nudisco, hints of progressive, whatever the fuck you want to call it, just good shit! Get on it

I know the original post was about the S4 and syncing, but I reckon we're getting too caught up on synching... if anything, Afrowookies attitude is much more a diservice to DJing!

My soundcloud is in sig, would be happy for ppl to listen, all done on cdj's no traktors or abletrons. I think the point everyone is making afro is that if you use these programs fine, but there are lost of different ways to mix and the more ways you learn the better. Also dance music consists of many genres beyond hardstylez.
Check it ****s.

umm, are all your songs the same tempo by chance?

looks all synced to me, tho there was a little bit of nudging goin on with that ipad... whatever it was doing

What is the ipad controlling?

5/10 - for all the gear you had going I was a little dissapointed, kinda expected a bit more - not having a go, just my opinion

Oh, and you're right - sweet camera setup

1st hour, lots of bpm changes between tracks so some "creative"mixing (at one stage pushing both pitch fadersup together speeding shit up), some looping & drops to cover the bpm changes......wouldnt have been able to mix those tracks with sync

They are around the the same tempo yea, cheesey house music at 128 (and a tech track at 126?)

Yea, wasnt quite in time, drifts out a little bit at times, and yea the vocal came in phrased wrong but hey.

Its in the 3rd deck of my serato SL3 which is 'bridged' to a liveset in ableton with the cheesey 7 nation army track i made, so the nudging was keeping it in time with each track while playing (its running Tonetable which basically emulates the timecode signal.)

Nice opinion, and i fully agree It was my first ableton/serato mix, and decided to record it.

I literally made the 7 nation army mash in 10 minutes, and the acapellas are horrible, but its all i could find that day at work (work in IT ha ha) the slop rock remix is great (i think anyway)

Wont be long til i post a much better mix of my own stuff and some nice housey/tech kinda stuff

There isn't a smiley that conveys my feeling about this clip, bit cheeky giving peeps shit about using the sync button when you didn't touch the pitch once on either deck (though I had to turn if off before then end, that music was hurting me).

With that much gear I was expecting something epic.

Ha ha that would be a complex smiley, something along the lines of:

And about sync, *insert comment about being djing for x amount of years and doesn't need to beatmatch anymore*

I can promise you my use of all the gear combine will (and already has) get more technical... But i cant say that i'd cater to your music needs

There was no chance though with this mix, as every tune is soaked in memories for me. This mix more than any I've done is all about the tunes, and not really about the mxing, or the tricks.

As an aside, that's a great mix you've done - now residing happily on my PC for steaming.

My downbeat one? Thanks man!

It's probably my favourite mixes I've ever done...usually I play prog/tech-house/deep/techno and a spattering of breaks...then one day just hunting tunes I selected funk-breaks under the breaks catagory and it opened up a whole world of more varying, slower tempos and I was hooked. Fuck knows how some of them qualify as funk-breaks, especially that Vincenzo and Elmer Shubert track, it's solid 4/4 all the way, more like slow-mo-deep house
