Ok, so I am on a mission. I would really like to be the proud new owner of (at least one) bottle of KAH Tequila (http://www.kahtequila.com/). Has anyone ever seen it in Australia or am I going to have to try and find it elsewhere?

Help a sister out!

I would also like to collect the Hijos De Villa tequila range also!

Go forth and discuss pretty tequila bottles!

^^ ditto... I've only every had one shot that I've liked (out of many, many shots) but I feel it's more the process of putting everyone through the pain of tequila that is half the fun.

Pussies! The both of you!

Tequila is delicious! I think most people don't like it because they ruin themselves on cheap tequila

hey, I'll shoot tequila with the best of them... I'd just prefer to drink something that doesn't smell and taste like paint stripper.

I'm being told that the tequila I liked was a top of the shelf Cuervo (silver or blue or something...). whatever it was we saw it at our local hotel for $50 a shot

I have a love love relationship with tequila. It's like a recipe for awesome.
Most of the bottle shops here have a very limited range. Cuervo 1800 Silver is my favourite that is readliy available.
Can't wait to go to Mexico next year! (I will bring you back some bottles Bizzy )

Other than cheap shit that I drank as a teenager to get smashed and basically put me off it, this

is the only top class Tequila I've had. And it was pretty nice from memory.

Too much time in the States has made me a tequila snob.

Favourites at home : Herradura Anejo, Don Julio Anejo, Partida Resposado ... weird that I like lowland resposados and highland anejos ... anyway.

Favourite all time : Herradura Selection Supreme

Best cheap tequila you might see in a bar in Australia : El Jimador Resposado

1800, Patron and Don Julio are definitely the go for tasty tequila.

The world of Mescal is also a wonderful thing.

Once you're sitting in a mescal bar in Mexico City tasting all the various delights from sweet to smokey you're a long way from the Sierra shit with the red hat you downed and regretted for the last 20 years.

I was told this tequila is awesome as I was leaving Mexico. Never got to try it, so if anyone sees it, let me know!

Going to the states to drink Tequila is the equivalent of coming from Europe to say, Singapore to drink Australian wines. Sure, you'll try some fine wines brought out by the big wineries. But it's not until you actually go into the wine growing regions of places like Margaret River, Barossa Valley, etc that you get try the family owned artisan produced wines that shit all over what is mass produced for the commercial export market. The same goes for Tequila and especially Mescal produced in Mexico. That's not to say that fine tequilas cannot be found in some places in the US, but fine Mescals are another thing altogether.

BTW a tip from a connoisseur in DF I know; if you're buying expensive tequila that comes in a fancy-shaped hand blown glass bottle, you're paying for the fancy-shaped hand blown glass bottle rather than the actual tequila. Do your research and spend your money on a good tequila that will go down your neck rather than spending your money on a bottle that will go in your bin.

I am actually after the Kah tequila for the bottle! Not the tequila! It won't be going near any bin. I might like skulls just a little. Same as the Hijos De Villa bottles. They are rad!

I'm a long time fan of this stuff too.

Loved getting it for ~$25 in the US.

In Austria, the tequila "slammer" is modified so that it involves gold tequila, orange in place of lemon, and cinnamon in place of salt - with the same "lick, sip, suck" timing. It's a much more savoury experience and is a product and/or service which I heartily recommend.

I found a bottom of this in my cupboard yesterday while looking for a bottle of fortified wine

forgot I had it - sticker on the back said it won double gold at the San Fran spirits competition as best anejo tequila of the show.
Probably why I bought it - no idea what it tastes like, might have to crack it open.

I recently discovered that the “lick, sip, suck” isn't actually called a tequila slammer, its ‘correct’ name is actually the Tequila Ritual. And the Tequila Slammer is some drink where you slam the glass with tequila and equal parts soda (lemonade or ginger ale) on a hard surface before drinking.

Mind blown!

Next you'll be saying that the Tequila Stuntman isn't even an actual thing.

Picked up a bottle of this : http://www.missionliquor.com/Store/Q...Azunia+Tequila on the way to LAX on Saturday night. Well happy with it, had a wee dram last night, and it was AWESOME.

Since only 1000 were made, and I'm pretty sure I have the only one in Australia, I'm keeping the bottle.

Recently introduced to Ocho. Nice

Oh, and if you love tequila, I recommend heading to Tio's in Surry - an excellent selection, and the dudes are very informative and (for the girls) quite flirtatious

I had an epic night there a couple of weeks ago. Made friends with the bar staff pretty quickly. Next thing you know the drinks were on the house, there was tequila being poured into my mouth and they were giving us hugs goodbye when we left to go eat burritos. Good times!

In Croatia on the island of Hvar where I'm from, a local bar called Kiva does a "Tequila Boom" in that fashion. They give you an old WW2 helmet (sometimes the Nazi one), put a shot of tequila and equal parts lemonade into a glass and slam in on your head a number of times. Then they slam it onto the bar and you pick it up and take a shot.

Such a crowd pleaser as the novelty of someone smashing a glass on a helmet you're wearing never gets old

I work in a bottle shop in Surfers Paradise Gold Coast and we sell the Hijos Tequila gun range. we have the Silver tequila Revolver and Gold Tequila semi-auto hand gun which are sold for $59.99 and they are 200ml (the gold one comes with 2 shot glasses). We also have a gold tequila rifle which is a 1.5L bottle and goes for $284.99. we have been trying to get the Kah tequila heads for just over a month and we may have them in stock before the end of month. please email me at eaton.david89@gmail.com if you wish to purchase any. unfortunatly we do not do any shipping so that would have to be organised and paid by you
