 Lockdown Jail Rave feat. Switch (Major Laser/Solid Groove) Queens Bday Eve Back again, one of Melbourne's most notorious day parties 'Lockdown'. For the 4th year running the Loud Promotions boys, have again packed this party with plenty of punch. Featuring no other then dance legend SWITCH who needs no introduction, the god father of fidget is back after a 3 year absence from Australian shores. To play one of Melbourne's Biggest day parties inside one of Melbourne' s oldest lock ups. A party not to be missed! The producer/DJ is a pop-crazed madman set on turning genres on their heads. With --M.I.A., Santigold, Major Lazer, to name a few--each project just as bizarre as the last, mashing up a mélange of musical styles and turning them into twisted numbers as only he can manage; each just as challenging as they are accessible. Since 2003 he's become a luminary in clubs across the globe thanks to his infamous house anthems -- "Get Ya Dub On," "Get on Downz," "Just Bounce 2 This," and "A Bit Patchy," -- those have become staples in all house DJs' playlists. While his friends were busy hitting pubs, as a teen Taylor became fascinated with club culture and would venture into London on his own to witness it first hand. Thanks to older friends who were into Man Parrish, Bambaataa, and breakdancing, Taylor would eventually witness studio urchins first hand as they started producing early jungle tracks for the Labello Blanco label. Soon enough Taylor was messing around with early drum & bass himself but nearly gave up on the scene and production entirely until he saw U.S. house kings Todd Terry and Kenny Dope spin at a London warehouse party. Suddenly something clicked for him and he bought a computer and a sampler, quit his job, packed his bags and moved to the South of France to work on his production full time. By the 2000s Taylor had entered the house scene fully. He was recording for Freerange, Slip ‘N’ Slide, and his own Dubsided imprint under the moniker Solid Groove. He and Jesse Rose joined forces to form Induceve, and with Trevor Loveys teamed up for the first incarnation of Switch--releasing classics like "Get Ya Dub On" and "Just Bounce 2 This" as a duo that would create a basis for his current musical leanings. Taylor and Loveys eventually parted ways, leaving Taylor to continue under the Switch title. By 2005 Taylor's name was making overtime rounds throughout the circuit as his production work on M.I.A.'s "Pull Up the People" and Ms. Thing's "Love Guide" was blowing out speakers on both sides of the pond while his own tracks "This Is Sick" and "A Bit Patchy" were burning down clubs worldwide. His work with M.I.A. continued through her critically acclaimed Kala, and on to her highly anticipated upcoming 2010 release. Meanwhile, his production has had a heavy hand on Santigold's debut LP which led to Christina Aguilera's interest in having him write, produce, and mix on her forthcoming album.
