how do you backup your ipod music?
Hi guys, I’m new here! Just wanna say hello and hope to gain some experience from you. I wanna download some new music but my ipod is almost running out of space. I really don’t wanna delete the old songs, so can I backup them to my computer? Do you have any experience?

if you use itunes, then your music is backed up already.
if you are running out of space, then you need to dlete music or get an ipod with bigger storage.

6 years ago when I still had an Ipod I used an app called yamipod to do this.

^ so yamipod lets to move/copy things off your iPod not just put stuff onto it?

I think he's getting at the fact he has music on there which he doesn't OWN, so it's not in his computers iTunes as a "backup"

I've actually been curious about this, too, as a mate's iPod is doing the death roll and she has music on their which others have ummm, "given" to her, which she would like to extract onto her laptop rather than lose it all (yes yes, not legal, but fuck man, it's not me! haha)

Yeah that's exactly what I used it for. It was a while ago tho maybe Apple has made it impossible by now.

If only Apple made an app for your computer that would let you save items from your Apple mobile devices onto the computer or other Apple mobile devices.

Just illegally download all the songs again*.
It's probably easier to do than find some app that lets you copy stuff over, then subsequently realise it only lets you copy 20 songs until you get the full version.

*no, don't do this.

Well if you bought those songs on iTunes I think it’s easy to get them back, because they should be linked to your account so you can download them for free again.
But if those music on your ipod are from other computers via itunes, you may not transfer them from ipod to pc because itunes can only transfer these fiels from itunes to your ipod touch. In that case you will need some other tools to do that. Google xxxxxxxxxxxxx and maybe you can find something useful.
