Break-A-Holics Anonymous feat. Skool of Thought

Calling all old-skool breakbeat crew! You wanted it, we’re bringing it. The return of our most premium breakbeat brand, Break-A-Holics Anonymous (BAA). And who better to lead the pack than Ambar’s first ever international DJ, Skool of Thought? As if all that wasn’t enough to get you tingling, he’s promised to deliver a Classic Breakbeat Set.

For real.

Back in the late 90’s Skool Of Thought was credited in DJ magazine for helping pioneer the early breakbeat scene. By the turn of the millennium he had teamed up with Krafty Kuts to launch the SuperCharged club nights and record label. It was around this time Skool Of Thought flew to Australia as the first ever international DJ to grace the decks at Ambar – and so began the love affair with the Perth breakbeat faithful.

Back in the UK and Skool Of Thought juggled duties; DJ by night and record label manager by day, releasing his now classic Heavyweight Breaks mix CD and a string of hard hitting 12” singles. In quick succession Krafty Kuts and Skool Of Thought launched a second label, Against The Grain, signing the Freestylers and that ‘Push Up’ tune. In 2008 Ed Solo & Skool of Thought released their artist album Random Acts of Kindness (Against The Grain), notching up nothing less than classic breakbeat and reaffirming their status as veterans of the scene.

Today, Skool of Thought remains true to his signature breakbeat and bass sound. He’s already started digging in the crates and has promised to pull out a classic breakbeat set for the Home of the Underground! This will be a night devoted to oldskool breakbeat sounds; back when the bass was fun, the beats were plump and the breaks were king!
All the way with BAA!
