Utd are linked with half the Athletic squad, Hazard (shock!), Kagawa (), Benfica winger Nicholas Gaitan....and no defenders.

I will laugh my arse off if we get kagawa.

I dont know who or what the answer is but for me it seems glaringly obvious we need a proper CM. Someone who can do a Scholes-type job that isnt Scholes ( Okay, maybe unreasonable to ask for that standard). I cant remember the last CM we even bought? Hargraeves ? Cleverly if he can stay fit will be good but I am worried about him, he doesn't have the best record injury-wise. Anderson surely has almost run out of time to prove himself a regular both injury-wise and potential-wise. Scholes cant just keep going and Giggs is nearing the end. Pogba is a way off yet and who knows if he is staying or not anyway. Who knows how Fletcher will go.


Leaves us with Carrick as a one-man midfield haha.

So which English players from the relegated teams will Liverpool be getting?

why does welbeck get in the team ahead of hernandez???

Hernandez offers movement and fnishing but not much else and has been struggling a little with form, when he plays bad he offers nothing. Welbeck is not a goal machine but links up with our midfield much much better.

When I was in England in 2008 I read an article in the Guardian about how Anderson would be better than Cesc

he was supposed to be the next ronaldinho

agree on sahin.
everyone seems to have been linked with de jong, and I think he has handled it very well (not blabbing his mouth in the media too much). his main concern is getting to a good club where he can get first team football. given that he plays as the left peg up front in a 4-3-3 as his natural position, you would have to say he would fit nicely at pool.

sadly it will not happen because king kenny is too stubborn. what a royal fuck up we have made with our money. we're going to be stuck with some of these duds for years...

at least from the reports so far it seems we're looking outside of england to bring in players this time. hopefully we sign some actual footballers and not british workhorses or athletes posing as footballers

besides pieters, who looks to be almost a certainty for us next season, we appear to have also completed signings of a few others as well.
Douglas Texeira, simply known as Douglas, is a Dutch naturalised Brazillian who stands at 6'4", playing centre back for FC Twente at the moment. excellent cover, if not first team ready alongside Coloccini at around £2.5 million.
we have signed 22 year old Romain Amalfitano, who plays for French second division team Rennes. one for the future, no doubt.
rumours have surrounded us with Jan Vertonghen, Luuk de Jong, and Tranquillo Barnetta, but I think all of these are out of our price range (around the 10m mark) after our spending on Cisse in the last window. the way I see it, any signing is a bonus.

at the end of the day, hanging on to the superstars that have really come to the forefront this season is a top priority. guys like Ba, Tiote and Ben Arfa will be hot property, just keeping them on will be like new signings, and if they do in fact leave we will then have a kitty to spend on building the squad towards Europe. if we are to be playing in the Europa league next season, we'll need a bit of a deeper squad, but how much of that will come from our current reserve team is unclear.

looking bright, though we are in a defensive position going into the window rather than an attacking one.
