Also as a Penrith fan, I think Grant is massively underdone coming back from injury. Very strange pick considering.

feel a bit bad for Woods, but he'll get his chance. Also stoked to have both our props playing against the Storms.

the team's OK, again the bench is too light, fuck Creagh off and add a prop, but then again Watmough adds some much needed roid rage and Gallen can always move up to Prop for 20mins or so

it smells like a Bob Fulton call, but thats hard to say when Ricky has had the team he wanted for all of the games prior. He never used an 80min hooker before (hard to leave Gidley out of the side if fit so it made sense last year) but I think he was either convinced by some that he needed someone to play 20mins at hooker or just had no clue at all. Robbie then had a blinder so it was always goign to be hard to make the call to sub him off and i think thats why Buhrer only got 5mins. Plus the fact that NSW were shit when Robbie was off the field and it became an even easier decision to drop buhrer for game 2.

I would't be surprised if we lose game 2 for Buhrer to get a recall for game 3, this is how fucked the entire NSW selection panel and coach are.

I assume Lewis is the utility player, which was so important to the Game 1 team?

I cannot believe NSW have picked Creagh again.

Lewis & Bird to cover the utility roles. Ben Creagh must be good at deep throat.

The problem with the Ben Creagh selection is who else would you bring in? I'd go with another prop but I guess with Gallen in the side you can easily move him to prop when watmough comes on... just dont know of another back rower worthy of an Origin call up? I know its Ben Creagh and anyone would be better but I can't think of anyone off the top of my head.

I dunno, obviously, I just would have thought they'd pick a younger guy to blood (not Buhrer). There has to be someone other than Creagh that deserves a shot?

Houston from Newcastle?

Na, he doesnt offer much in attack, just tackles his heart out. Heino would be good buy he's now a Pom and is coming back from injury.

Williams and Sims the obvious choices but both injured. The rest that I thought of were all Queenslanders, hurr.

seems like i'm the only one that keeps raising the mateo option. i guess he might pose the opposite problem in origin though, offers something in attack but can't tackle so will probably be found out in defence.

if beau scott had been fit the last month you'd think he'd get the nod over creagh. other than that i can only think of hoffman who might be brought back in.

how about we just blood young sironen now, cheel will tell you we won't break the drought until a couple years time when there's 4-5 tigpies in the blues squad.

yeah I reckon the blues will go on a bit of a run in a few years time

look at our prop stocks for the future, Tamou, Tim Grant, Aaron Woods, Galloway's still quite young

Qld are losing Petro and Hannant and Matt Scott aren't getting any younger. They've got Kasiano but who else is coming up? Martin Kennedy?

you only need to look at the Toyota Cup State of Origin this year to realise that the Blues are definitaely going to win 11-12 straight soon enough.

also, lol, just remembered Martin Kennedy is a turncloak.

yeah, everyone except Ennis (who in his own right is pretty dangerous if you have your back turned)
props: Lolman, Kasiano, [Graham, Taupau]
back row: T Rex, Pritchard, Stagg, [Halatau, Payne]
are the dogs losing anyone?

We have quite a few players off-contract still.

Including: Turner, Goodwin, Taupau, Romelo, Wright, Keating, Mitch Brown, Halatau, Stagg

Expecting to lose quite a few of these guys - but am expecting to pick up Jennings.

Can do without Jennings. Would rather resign Wright & Goodwin & elevate a 20s player next year if we have the horror injury run with outside backs we've had this year.

Going to be hard to keep him - Eels are apparently offering decent money for him.

He sure does have potential, but is behind the pecking order at the Dogs.

Dale Finucane has a much brighter future (made his debut on Saturday), as does David Klemmer (star NYC front rower).

Watched a few NSW Cup games, and I've loved the look of James Gavet also.

I think we will lose Taupau & Stagg and a few of the outside backs, but really hope we keep Halatau - Hasler has revived his career.

I really doubt dogs will get Jennings.. The bulldogs are linked to pretty much everyone (even Isreal Falou recently).. I am 50/50 on the T-Rex signing.. Obviously the pack is going to be ridiculous next year (eastwood is on contract next year as well).. However I just dont think he is really needed. However I trust Des Hasler and it seems clear he has the team heading in the right direction. It's just I dont want to lose Marty Tapau, Romelo, Stagg or Halatau..

Still.. Next years team will be sweet.. We dont need jennings at all.. Tim Lafai imo can be as good as him. He is a gun. Maybe not with the same pace, but he has much sweeter footwork and is stronger. He was just starting up this year and it is such a shame he got injured. At least he didnt do a bad leg injury..

Also it could be some mind game.. say in the media you are linked to jennings, but are actually going after a youngster.. To him you'd be like 'oh yeah we consider you to be on jennings level and could get there one day with coach des's magic love juice' .. I dunno.. Of course this is complete sheer speculation.

Big move and would be a good one.

I really like the white massive front rower in the 20s. Josh Jackson?

I'm also dubious about T-Rex. I think the forwards at the Dogs didn't need much more than they have now.

I would of spent the $500k on a gun half

With the inu signing, I just see no needs for Jennings. Particularly if his attitude is half as bad as it's being reported

Next year with Inu kicking goals there probably is almost no room for them in the side.. Wright at this stage would get the tip over goodwin because he is much more solid in defence..

Backline would be

1.Barba
2.Inu
3.Lafai (to force morris out of left centre)
4.Josh Morris
5.Macdougall (who looked very solid & fast the one game he played imo) or Wright just to be a solid bookend on the cheap
6.Reynolds
7.Hodkinson (who I think once he gets back to full fitness & form will easy keep keating out who will be a solid backup anyway)

on the back of the forward back that backline can do heaps of damage no worries.

Because Reynolds is not a star and imo won't be in the future.

And Hodgkinson is average.

Blues to win this next one when Carney pulls his finger out and has a go, ripping the QLD defence apart not seen since Joey Johns on green mitsubishis.

Or we'll get smashed because QLD dont have the flu anymore.

Also on the son thing.. Steve Carters son is coming through the grades at the dogs and is indeed looking the goods.. Cagey Centre/2nd rower, basically looks like a slightly larger version of his old man which can only be a good thing.

Haha...

Seriously though I rate the dogs pack very highly before T-Rex was signed. Ennis is solid. Barba is a gun and then you have Morris, Lafai on the edges along with Inu and Wright.

Just thought a better half would compliment the team better than another backrower.
