Getting decks from brisbane to Melbourne
Hi guys,
Sorry if this is in the wrong part of the forum.

I'm heading to Melbourne for a work conference and will be staying there for a few weeks to catch up with people and I want to play in a couple of my mates clubs.

what are the best options for getting my gear from brisbane to melbourne and what would a reasonable cost be? (So I know I'm not getting ripped off)

I will be flying down as my company is paying for the flight and ill have a mates car in Melbourne to get around there. But it's just getting my equipment from A to B

Thank you!

Yeah, "your mates clubs" don't have equipment?

If you're work is paying, just box them up and take them on the plane and pay the excess baggage charges
Pete Gordon - Deep and Low

Slower tempo but still with balls, deephouse, slow-mo, futurehouse, nudeep, indie, nudisco, hints of progressive, whatever the fuck you want to call it, just good shit! Get on it

Or if you're flying with Virgin and are a Music Victoria (I imagine it works for each states equivalent) or APRA member you can bring them for $15 as they're considered instruments. I think you just need to phone ahead and make sure they have room, they generally allow around 35kg in excess baggage.

Details are here...

Works out loaaads cheaper then couriers or just taking excess baggage fees

That's sweet...yeah, I think domestic excess baggage is $5 per KG...2 x 12.5KG decks = $125 excess baggage (assuming it's all 'excess' and you can't use some of your standard allowance for them)
