Cream were forced to cancel its opening party at Ibiza’s Amnesia club on Thursday June 21, with no date yet given on a possible opening. After various nightclubs on the island, including Amnesia, were shut down earlier this month, Cream – the famed dance club out of Liverpool, UK – chose to support Amnesia in its attempt to challenge authorities in their month-long closing of the club. Cream and Amnesia have been partners for the last decade, together creating one of the most insane and hedonistic Thursday night clubbing events in Ibiza. Although another venue was available for Cream, they instead decided to stand by their partner – Amnesia.
Luckily, ticketholders will be reimbursed by the agency, but Cream still apologises for the inconvenience. In a statement on their website, the club remarked; “We offer our sincere apologies to all our customers and partners for such a late decision and any inconvenience caused.” In an attempt to compensate, Cream held a free event earlier this week at the waterfront Bar M, with DJs Eddie Halliwell, Anthony Probyn, Adam Sheridan and special guest. Cream hopes that the Opening Party will be held next Thursday June 28, with the same “star studded lineup.” For now, ravers will just have to be patient.
