Last Sunday night saw an international heavyweight bout in the Ibizan ring. However it was not Anthony Mundine in town for a fight, but rather two of the world’s more prominent global house DJs and producers who found themselves in a tussle.

In the early hours of Monday morning, July 9, Paul Woolford was playing the closing set on the terrace at We Love Space Sundays. Earlier in the night Sandy Rivera had performed to a full house on the same terrace. As the night was drawing to a close, a scuffle of sorts began to unfold in the DJ booth, between the American house DJ with an afro and the curly haired Englishman responsible for last year’s club smash ‘Erotic Discourse’.

One Space employee claimed that Sandy insisted Paul play his seminal Kings Of Tomorrow anthem ‘Finally’ as his closing track, and that when Paul refused a scuffle unfolded. Another groupie in the DJ booth insists Sandy was trying to pull down Paul’s pants – as a practical joke – and that Paul simply wanted to DJ with his pants on. As ridiculous as this might sound, it all happened. Only in Ibiza!
