The first EyeToy offering was a truly revolutionary way to watch people make a complete tit of themselves -all in the best fun of course. If you bought the original you’ve probably kept up enough balls with your head, fought off umpteen ninjas and generally got your money’s worth and a whole christmas holidays’ worth of fun.

When I heard there was a new title for this weird and wacky addendum to my world I was over the moon. Just in time for the silly season – the perfect after clubbing accessory buy it and you won’t be disappointed.

If the lack of variety in the original offering put a dampner on your holiday spirit, prepare to get festive  with 12 games that offer varying levels of challenges. Improvements in sound and background detection are sure to impress those who have struggled with dark rooms and the original Play game.

The martial arts make a return with the sequel Kung 2 allowing you to chop suey your way through a whole lot more marauding ninjas, as well as chopping blocks of ice and wood for variety.

Avoid detection as a Secret Agent – not my favourite game included but probably one of the more difficult as it involves freezing in varying positions- which doesn’t come easy after a big night on the town.

Demonstrate your innate musicianship and rhythm with the drumming and air guitar games – certainly my favourites and very funny to watch.

One of the best aspects of this new release is the presentation. Have your photo taken and its placed on the head of a cute little creature which either celebrates your wins or laments your losses. Mix this game with alchohol at your peril – you can save the incriminating photos!

Speaking of incriminating, this game also comes with a “Spy Toy” feature, allowing you to use your eye-toy as a security device -I can only imagine the amount of amateur porn this dodgy feature is going to give rise to – pardon the pun.

Table tennis  and boxing are sure to give you a giggle and a work out. I pulled muscles trying to beat some big dodgy dude the first time I played this game – limber up before – you have been warned.

The multi-player aspects of the game are fantastic – and where it really shines is with a crowd. Anyone from your Gran to your little brother can get down to this title. Its sure to find itself in loads of chrissy stockings this year at any rate.

I could go on about the fun you’re going to have hitting a home run  in the baseball game or scoring at soccer, but this is one game you’re just going to have a go of.

When you’re wobbling round the room trying to keep bricks  up or make a hamburger, smile to yourself that the money you spent on eye toy hasn’t been a waste and its not just a one trick pony.
