Love them or want them to burn in a fire, Nicholas Cage, Jerry Bruckheimer and John Turteltaub all make fun, awesome movies. I for one would watch Cage in pretty much anything, which is why I can quote most of The Rock verbatim – this is a story for another time, of course. And when these three cosmic forces of rad-itude come together like they did on National Treasure, National Treasure II and presumably National Treasure III: Even More Hokey Intrigue and Adventure you’re in for some wonderful, disposable fun.

Cue The Sorcerer’s Apprentice and a plume of smoke. The new flick reunites the afore-mentioned powers of pure Hollywood fun, out together for another dash through special effects, just-gp-with-it action fun and what I can only hope is a lot of ‘Nic Cage running with intent’ scenes. They’ve got up and comer Jay Baruchel, who ITMers would’ve seen taking up ad real estate for She’s Out Of My League recently, in the mix (ooooooh!) too, which means we’ve got an effective comic foil already in place.

Scope the trailer for the film below. It’s out on September 9th, so get your popcorn and slushy ready, this will be an easy romp through the cinema.

This and our recent Kick-Ass feature is just the start of a movies revival on the inthemix Lifestyle section, so at the moment we’re basically just experimenting with the format, seeing what works and what doesn’t. So expect me to post up trailers, reviews, interviews and some other borderline stupid stuff like a gallery of the best/worst Nic Cage hair-styles over the years. That’s right. All the Cage-do’s you can handle! Oh yeah. Check that out below and if you like, love, hate, wanna puke at what we’ve got so far, drop a comment in the box below. It’s not always about the music, after all!
