Channel Ten have announced that their much hyped show 90210 has been axed locally after screening just 4 episodes. “90210 is an excellent show that clearly resonated with a younger audience, but it didn’t have the kind of numbers needed to stay in this intensely competitive environment,” a Ten spokesperson said.

Whilst it is still on air in the US, the remake only managed to pull in 616,000 people during its final outing in the primetime slot of 8.30pm on Monday. Seeing how hyped the show was before it aired, it’s certainly not a good sign. Even the much hyped series premiere drew only 837,000 people, far less than anticipated.

If you’re a fan, don’t fret. Channel 10 intends to broadcast the remaining episodes over summer in the non-ratings period.

the show is crap, channel 10 is crap in fact australian media churns out the same generic material for an Australian audience that is dying for something more compelling not american. The fact that they would even consider putting this series shows how out-of-touch the channel 10 management is with the majority of Australian Audiences....boring boring boring

Didn't manage to catch any eps? Did they bring back Steve Sanders? He rocked back in the day.
